Genuinely seems like this fight isnt on the radar at all. Havent seen much discussion nor promotion for this.

As someone that likes both Spence and Porter, the result simply appears to be such a foregone conclusion, and with me not exactly being a fan of how Porter fights (despite that, I still like and root for him), that the fight just doesnt do anything for me.

What exactly is the intrigue to a fight in which you think you already know what will happen and you also dont like the way the fight will look, aesthetically (style and action wise).

Excellent question, it deserves far more attention than it's getting, and I genuinely think it's not even close to a foregone conclusion. Although with Porter, that's not a shock, I'm pretty sure I was one of the only people on here that without hesitation picked him to maul Broner, and thought that his match with Thurman was going to be Keith toughest test, that he might not pass. And he barely did.

Although very hesitant. I'm actually leaning Porter by KO. Now hear me out, and no I'm not crazy. Porter is rugged, is a solid inside fighter, is tough as nails with an amazing chin. He fights well on the front foot and on the back foot. He's unorthodox, awkward and very unpredictable. Sure you may say he looked horrible against Ugas, well Ugas just dominated Figueroa from start to finish in their match, and did an excellent job nullifying everything Omar attempted to do. I figured he'd win, but not that decisively. Ugas is huge for the division, hit's hard, and is an excellent counter-puncher. Arguably more skilled than Spence. So the fact that Porter did as well against him is he did, is very impressive. Spence has never faced an opponent that wasn't either shot, too small or compromised. The one good opponent he's had that was compromised, took 5 to 6 rounds off of him, and stunned him a time or two.

Great he was able to take the power of Mikey Garcia, so did Adrien Broner and Sergey Lipinets, and that was at 140. Mikey's power clearly didn't follow him up in weight, just like with Broner's. So the reality is, that was Triple G vs Kell Brook, only without the KO or the marauding much larger man actively seeking a KO walking through bombs. The amount of respect that Spence showed a pune like Mikey was shocking. How many people have said that Spence isn't a big puncher? Maybe you guys should start listening to them.

As close as the matches Porter had with Thurman and Garcia were, both of whom are elite opponents, along with his close match against Ugas who's a stylistic nightmare for most. Should tell you that Porter is a little underrated in the skills department. Yes Spence is decent, but the reality is, he's not anywhere close to being special, he's just a big guy in the division who throws a lot of punches, while he has decent footwork, and cuts the ring off quite well, he doesn't bring anything to the table a guy who shared the ring with Brook, Thurman or Garcia hasn't already had to deal with before.

Porter can be quite cagey, hard to time, and nearly impossible to get the rhythm of. He simply will not do what every other opponent of Spence has done before. It took Spence about five rounds to adjust to the one twos of Kell Brook, how the hell is he going to adjust Porter who can change his incredibly erratic style from round to round?

As a southpaw Spence is going to be wide open for Porter's lunging right hook, and when it lands it's going to be neck wrenching, the kind that can cause concussions. Also his body is going to be open for that right hook as well. Another thing, how good is his gas tank? Because you've never seen anybody bring the fight to him, push the pace, and truly tax his ass. Porter will.

I have no idea how this match will play out, but what I do know is it will not be a walk in the park for either man.

Spence first true Bonefide Welterweight .
One legged broken Brook was 60%.

Porter will slaughter Spence come Saturday. Unless Porter boxes his ears off for 12 rds of action.

You cannot go from fighting the likes of Mr. Algieri & Ocampo to Porter. Spence must be Sucicidal taking this fight

If Porter can stay on the inside what's Spence going to do? He likes to stay long and throw that big straight left. Take that out of the equation and it evens up the fight.

Porter is no chump, he can box but not sure he has fight ending power.

I'm disinterested because myself and our group that get together and watch fights all see Porter as being outmatched and that it'll be a lot like Spence playing around with Mikey. And nobody wants to see anything close to a repeat of that farce.

That's what everyone thought with Otto Wallin as well, which is understandable since he didn't have anyone close to the caliber of Danny Garcia, Paulie Malignaggi, Andre Berto, Devon Alexander, Yordenis Ugas, Adrian Granados, Adrien Broner and an near draw with Keith Thurman on his resume.

CST80, enjoyed your detailed breakdown above and I certainly wasn't intending to be dismissive at all, just trying to honestly answer the question. Porter just doesn't do much for me. Thought Ugas beat him clean and wasn't impressed with Thurman or that fight, but I may be really wrong about him or really be overrating Spence. Just giving my immediate response to why the fight isn't sparking much interest. You may have a really good handle on how this fight actually plays out.
