It was the best of hump times and the worst of hump times but also the hump times we will never forget
Thanks for the great article, and for posting this here. Good analysis of the fight. I enjoyed that fight so much back in 2013, that after it was done I immedietly rewatched it all over again. The way Broner walked back to his dressing room after his beating was priceless. Broner had it comming, Marcos Maidana was his daddy bringing a righteous ass whoopin for 12 rounds. Good memories.
Broner is a perfect example of a fighter trying to be someone he is not. We had one of the greatest fighters in history who called the rounds in which he would stop his opponent, and he backed it up. His name was Muhammad Ali, he had class as well as skill. Broner will never be an Ali or Floyd Money Mayweather. They say imitation is the best form of flattery, but let your fist do the talking in the ring, It is up to the promoter to build up the gate. Fans want to see fights, not talking. Maidana showed heart and skill in his victory over Broner. he became Broner's problem. What a fine win for Maidana, and no hot wind talking.
That was such an enjoyable fight. Probably in my top 10 most enjoyable. Still remember jumping up in excitement the first time Broner goes down.
Great work ''Broner talks too much He talks and he talks Let's see if what he says holds up The same thing happened to me with with Victor Ortiz. He thought he was a big star and I knocked him off his high horse I will always do my work quietly I never disrespected my opponents But if they disrespect me I will disrespect them This Broner guy better not say anything to me because I really have it in for him I know he's the favourite But I don't care I've crossed paths with lions He still hasn't fought with men He hasn't beat anyone yet to be a star The cow has messed with the bull'' -- Marcos Maidana This content is protected
