Noticed Eddie Hearn mentioning in a bunch of interviews yesterday that Saturday's York Hall show only got 24,000 viewers. Anyone know if this is accurate? Got to be worrying for BT if true. Wouldn't surprise me if Top Rank's supposed entry into the UK market will be on BT.
I haven’t actually seen it myself but apparently it was an entertaining show by all accounts. The problem is that even moderate boxing fans didn’t know half the card. It weren’t one to capture the imagination.
Doesn't surprise me if true, really it was a trade show for the boxing fans on what is probably the last warm Saturday night of the year. Can't imagine many casuals who stayed in watching that over the standard Saturday night telly. Really it was like a NxtGen type show. It's a shame because Chelli-Davies was decent and it's a shame neither got more exposure. Chelli's style is so casual-friendly and with him being so young he really could be huge if promoted and booked properly. Been meaning to make a thread about him after Saturday.
Wow I didn’t realise hey had such little numbers. No wonder sky can’t pump in much more to non ppv cards if they can’t get the viewers in without such big names
Spellman fight was a good one also. I often enjoy these smalle shows more than the high profile ones, especially with a good atmosphere like you often get at York hall
Yep was a good fight, was generally a good standard of boxing throughout the night. Likewise I like these small shows. I'm keen to attend one in York Hall this year to take my mrs to her first boxing show.
Is that the show where Sam Maxwell knocked out the fella showboating and goading him? Looked an entertaining card.
No that was the show in March. Which highlights my point. You think posters on here would be classed as the hardcore, especially one called Uk boxing fan! He didn’t even know the show had happened Saturday! Poor promotion and lack of a household name.
Ah fair enough , cheers! I tend to watch every show but genuinely had no idea there was one on last Saturday! Didn’t see or hear of any promotion.
I had to go to bed early cos of work but that Spelman Pitters fight was good. Surely not a surprise this type of show does low numbers.
