Poorly for Pulev, I imagine He seemed to not do so hot the first and only time in his career he fought quality opposition. He does not have the power to ward off a pressure fighter nor the skills to hold his own on the scorecards, certainly not against a pressure fighter of Marciano's calibur Of course the only beating worse than Pulev would get is why my mental state will be when the inevitable "Pulev because he's bigger" comments roll in. Which, of course, is why this thread was created. Simply to have the same argument that's been had on 10 other threads this past week. Marciano is yet again used as the same whipping boy, as he was used as the whipping boy for the "42y/o Marciano vs Mercer" thread. I'm sure Dempsey will be the whipping boy again at some point. Maybe Louis too. Who cares. Saying Pulev beats Marciano is basically equivalent saying size is the only thing that matters in boxing.
And what exactly is your definition of a great jab? It certainly is not a top 10 heavyweight ATG jab. It wouldn't be anywhere near a p4p list. You know who has top 10 atg traits? Rocky Marciano. You know who has arguably the greatest stamina the heavyweight division has ever seen? Rocky Marciano. You know who has a legendary bodywork, toughness and 2 handed brutal punch power? Rocky Marciano. You know who would puke out of joy if he ever accomplished 1/2 as much as Rex ****ing Layne? Kubrat Pulev
Pulev makes way too many mistakes for me to see him beating any of the past great heavyweights. I knew Wlad was going to make easy work of him. Pulev drops his right almost every time he throws his jab. Marciano would hurt him very badly for doing that and Pulev also stands straight up, which also makes him a very easy target to land on, which is why Wlad kept dropping him over and over again.
Marciano smash early KO, as early as round 1. Pulev was crummy, I'd doubt he would get a title shot outside the Klitschko era.
Yes really. You can call him a bum if you want but in reality he is a good solid contender and has been for years.
Pulev is strong. He'd not be an easy fight for Marciano by any means. Wlad had to throw the kitchen sink at him before he crumbled.
Pulev is slow, basic, and predictable. His size might trouble Marciano for a little bit. But, it would be like hitting a heavy bag. Eventually Marciano stops him.
