Sure they fought earlier in their careers with Pryor getting the better. And Hearns lightest weight was Welter and Pryor's was Jr. Welter,But Pryor did want Leonard so this fight could of happened..who wins?

Would have been one hell of a fight, but my money is on Pryor by stoppage, you couldn't beat hearns unless you dogged him and Pryor was always a live dog.

Arguello couldn't miss Pryor with the right.

Hearns by stoppage. I've always rated pryor lower than hearns, and pryor tended to get nailed by right hands. Hearns had one of thebest rights ever seen.

I will never bet against Hearns with any fighter at 147 or down post Ray Robinson. I would of fancied Hearns to avenge his defeat to Sugar Ray had they fought soon after the first fight. In fact, I felt he done enough to win their rematch many years later.

Hearns is arguably the best fighter ever p4p from the neck down.

The jab and the right hand are too much to handle for smaller Pryor.

would of been a fantastic fight, but I always felt Pryor might of matched up better with Ray Leonard. I would still favour Ray, but that would been an awesome fight.

I'm not as convinced as some Hearns wins, if he doesn't KO Pryor early and this goes 10,11,12,13 Tommy is in trouble

Hearns by brutal early round stoppage.

This is a much different fight than the amateur fight. Hearns offense would be too much for Pryor. Too big..

Hearns by early stoppage, assuming it's at 147. Unless it's at 140, where Pryor has at least some sort of chance. Their amateur fight was at 132 where Hearns had no punching power at all.

And I might add Hearns fought everyone at professional and Pryor did not. Pryor might have edged Thomas in physical skills someways naturally, but not muc, but Hearns had just as much speed and more one punch power and just as much heart and I think better training and trainer. Hearns passed up Pryor because of his willingness to fight everyone and trying to be great. Pryor took it for granted and didn't improve much after the Arguello rematch. Hearns was always looking to move up and fight better guys and his career was much much greater. A full career. I always saw Pryor's career as unfufilled.

Quite probably, but I recall Tommy's fight with Ray, halfway through the fight Tommy went from being the hunter to being the hunted.

I would have picked Hearns, probably early. Result might have been similar to the Duran and Cuevas fights. I don't think Hearns would have wasted any time getting started, and Pryor would have been right there engaging him. Pryor's movement was frustrating to Arguello, who was a great fighter but one who had trouble with quick hands and movement. I'm not sure Pryor would be moving much with Hearns raining down big right hands on him.

The amateur fight they had means nothing in this context.

As much as I like Pryor, Hearns would have beaten him, I’ve no doubt about that.
