Wlad is the best clincher I every saw. and he didn't need to hold behind the head to do it. He just reached out with technique and clamped down. Very hard to fight as most couldn't get past his jab or footwork.

Ike? As in Ibeabuci? No. Not a chance. He wasn't manhandling Tua, Foreman would ragdoll him

Foreman would have to be careful with Bruno as George wasn't hard to hit and Bruno could punch

I don't know....I don't think that Foreman would embarrass himself doing a bench press or deadlift. I'd wager prime Foreman and 90s Foreman would bench more than most men.

Strongest? I would say yes but there is no evidence he was. Foreman was a human force of nature in his prime.

He was the hardest puncher I ever watched live. Not close. terrifyingly powerful blows.

Are you talking 1st run or 2nd run Foreman? Did you ever see Shavers?

I talked to 3 guys who sparred with him in the 90's and have read accounts of others. All say that while he might not be the most crackingest puncher, he had a next level "persuasive" power.

George was a beast. If he wasn't the strongest, he was on a very short list.

Interestingly Rahman who was built huge, was reputed to lift big weights in the gym and rag dolled Lewis in a brawl in a TV studio prior to the rematch didn't really impose his huge strength in the ring.

He could box pretty well when he wanted, could win a fire fight and had power but he didn't physically rough house so much. It's why a little guy like James Toney could compete so well against him. He didn't wear people down in a clinch like Wlad nor shove guys around like Foreman to dominate range or set up punches. The smaller Holyfield actually roughoused him effectively when they met (butting aside). He might just be a guy who abided by the rules of boxing but he was a physically very imposing guy and could've used his strength more to his advantage imo.

Prime Foreman. I’ve seen all the top punchers from the 70’s live. George hit like no other.

He'd do me for a pick that's for sure. Ali is also very underrated in the department but he's no George.

That’s a different kind of strength. You are correct that Ali was extremely strong in a clinch though. I think the clinic that tested him for Parkinsons said Ali was among the physically strongest individuals they had ever tested.

I think Ali had really good upper body strength...he certainly had the muscles (especially for a drug-free fighter).

Thought of Ike because of his punch resistance along with his toughness . That's physical strength as well. I don't see Foreman manhandling Tua. He was suppose to rag doll Ali.

Foreman said in a documentary that Sonny Liston (they sparred a lot) was the only man to make him back up consistently. The only man to ever intimidate him was Liston. I’d have to go with Liston personally.

You have to take with a grain of salt anything George says.
