Why didn't GGG think of fighting Kovalev, or something similar?

Of course I think. He wanted to be fed, to have a huge record and to cash out at the end of his career. And that's what he did.

He's not the first one. You can look at sven ottke, he did even worse.

What's 100% sure is that gg wanted ZERO risks and that he gave ZERO ****s for his legay/career/whatever.

Prime Kov not way past his best Kov's bloated shot alcoholic ghost

Prime Kov would knock Clenelo's gargantuan ginger melon into the Stratosphere. KO3 at the very latest

They say power is the last thing to go so why would he not be able to do that now?

What a guy who’s no where near the monster he used to be?

I give Canelo mad props for the fight but let’s not kid ourselves that he’d of done this if Kovalev hadn’t of slipped to the level he’s at now.

If Canelo wins you will see his true interest at 175 if he fights the winner of Beterbiev and Gvozdyk.

Kovalev hasn’t got the snap on his punches he once had, he still hits hard but not as hard as he once did, this is clearly evident from his last few fights.

    Christ you're an ignorant one.

"Have you left Universum completely as of yet? If so, did you feel like they were hot and cold when it came to your career?

    - Yes, I have terminated my contract with Universum in January 2010. This decision is definitive and irrevocable. The reason for this decision is that I've always been placed behind Felix Sturm and Sebastian Zbik by Universum. Our demands to fight against Felix Sturm or Sabastian Zbik have been always rejected on absurd grounds. Universum had no real plan or concept for me, they did not even try to bring my career forward. They would rather try to prevent me from winning a title as long as Sturm and Zbik are champions. Furthermore, bouts against well-known and interesting opponents (e.g. Marco Antonio Rubio or Anthony Mundine) were held out in prospect, but nothing happened. This situation was not acceptable. It was time to move forward."

He wanted Korobov, Sturm, Zbik, Mundine, Martinez, Chavez Jr (when he was still worth something) Mayweather, Froch, Ward and most of them suddenly had to curl their hair when he laid down the challenge. And of course he's making big money fights now, he's past prime and at the end of his career. Why would he fight for peanuts? To please "el anonimo" Chacal on BF24? Get real.

Biggest load of bollix ever, an old wives tail..You have zero power without timing and confidence, punchers can appear lighter punchers without confidence..Price is a perfect example, without confidence look at the level hes at, with confidence a few year ago Allen and Ali would've been hurt rapid and dispatched..Without the mind game all attributes take a hit physically

And since sturm ducked him he decided to fight tomatocans the rest of his life, until his late 30s when he decides to chash out and get some money.

    Yes, makes sense.

There are fighters who want challenges and to be great, and there are fighters who love tomatocanshmashing. Gigi wants no challenge, NONE.

But it is OBVIOUS. Only you, people, being completely deluded fans and in complete denial of the reality, can make this discussion possible.

Whats the big deal about wanting to fight Sturm? Hoya doesn't get any credit for fighting Sturm and he had no business at MW.

Arthur Abraham was ducked by Sturm too when that fight was much bigger than Sturm vs GGG.

Arthur didn't let Sturm stop him from fighting other top guys like Froch and Ward. GGG should have been all over the Ward fight if he wanted to face the top guys like he claimed , but we all saw him completely reject it.

The man isn't about taking risks or challenges. Thats why he hasn't took any legacy defining fights like Ward or Canelo. :icon_tfno:
