I got banned because if this thread but how far off was I? The meat of the matter is Donny Lalonde & Kovalev were similar
ehhhh... Lalonde does get underrated a bit, generally - mostly weighted by SRL haters seeking to undermine that win by making out like he beat some utterly garbage fighter with Ali Raymi levels of padding in his record and no substance to him... ...but he isn't THIS underrated. Likewise the loss to a much smaller Canelo, especially by KO, does a bit of harm to Kovalev's mystique and maybe even to his overall historical standing... ...but taking all the circumstances into account, it does nowhere close to as much harm as THIS. Stretch as you might from either direction, you can't put Lalonde and Kovalev on the same planar surface.
Prime Kovalev would have KO'd Lalonde. Although, Lalonde would have an outside puncher's chance. He had real power in his right hand.
