At 147? Both were murderous punchers at the weight.

Both had chins made of chandelier, but Tito always arose to win his fights at 147, although Hearns hit harder. Tito did not survive in the Hopkins fight at 160. Hearns did have better leverage. Tito fought the early rounds as if he was sleep walking, but after getting knocked down by his opponents, he fought enraged, to usually score a knockout. Hearns could not recover from knockdowns. just as in the Iran Barkley, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and Sugar Ray Leonard fights.

Tito was a better two handed puncher . Much better left hook. ... Hearn's may have been a better single shot with the right .. Tito certainly carried his power up to 160 as his destruction of Joppy showed .. Tito is absurdly underrated these days as a welter and a fighter .. he was a monster at 147.

Hearns. His power carried up and showed at every weight he fought at, including 40lbs above where he started.

Their about equal. Hearns right hand is the most deadly but a clean hook from Trinidad sends you to the same place. Tito may have carried his power into the later rounds a little better, I may be wrong on that but that is my recollection.
Tommy Hearns did have an underated hook to the body.

His boxing ability helped him climb so many divisions. He kept some power all the way to 175 but his jab deserves a large share of the credit.

Top 4 welterweight? Of all time? He has about 1 noteworthy win against De la Hoya which he got lucky in anyway.
His record is nothing special at all.

I believe he was referring to top 4 as a puncher. As a Welterweight Trinidad had uncommon power. 14 successful defenses from '93-'99.
He had several noteworthy wins @47. He stopped Yori Boy Campos when he was undefeated, Oba Carr when he was undefeated and beat a still potent Hector Camacho. I don't give Trinidad too much credit for the Whitaker fight because Pea was faded but he did what DelaHoya couldn't.
His reign was uneven because of split titles and problems with Don King.

Yes, top 4 puncher in the history of the division is fair. I'd put it in this order:
    1. Hearns
    2. Cuevas
    3. Robinson
    4. Trinidad
