Let me clear this up for the 100th time. I am a fan of all champions, Liston included. His story fascinates me more than most of them. It is never Liston himself that I disliked....more the disproportionate status he is given based on a much thinner resume than other champions... and the outrage caused identifying this.

I have studied Liston and his life, regarding what there is on him, I have read and viewed more about what there is on him than just about any other person known to have existed. I have no hate of Sonny Liston the fighter at all.

I'm genuinely somewhat disappointed by the lack of Saad Muhammad in this thread

He looked unbelievable! Circling both ways, two handed combos, feints, shoulder rolls, speed, educated jab.

I always thought there was a resemblance to... Tyson. Its the way he squares up and throws those torquing punches. Maybe it's just me, but I found it interesting when I compared them.

Like I said, this list probably says a bit too much about me!
For me it is a fascinating career story.

You have a guy who was like a young Mike Tyson, across three weight classes, and then his implosion was almost as spectacular.

Loved him as a pundit next to McGuigan in the 90`s but who the hell would he have beat for a belt?
