I was actually hoping that Pirog would take up acting and become a famous movie star after injury sadly curtailed his boxing career. I thought he would've been perfect for the part of Brody (the character Roy Scheider played who coincidentally also used to be a boxer) in a Russian remake of Jaws or Челюсти as it is known over in Russia.

But it was awesome watching him mosey on over to the States Eastwood style circa 1964-1966 and treat US fans to a demonstration of what real slickness looks like.

The most popular sport on earth is football (not the American variant) and Americans suck at it.

You’ve got some comprehension problems, mate.
He said the most popular sport in the world is football, which is correct.

What you do or don’t give a **** about is irrelevant, as is your perception of where the best athletes are at.

Football has supreme athletes too you fool. I'm even from America originally but your sports suck balls. Wrestling is more athletic and the eastern Europeans are Kings at that.

Try your hand at it mate it is the most exerting sport ever. Your blatant ignorance here isn't helping your case.

I’d argue that ice hockey is the most exerting. Very physically and mentally demanding sport, those guys average 16-18min play-time per game cuz it’s physically not possible to play longer and maintain the accuracy, awareness and strength levels required. And they get knocked about by defense-men, and hit by pucks flying at an average speed of 100mph and even fight on occasion.
Based on his hand to eye coordination and balance, Loma would be an excellent forward so would Floyd, Canelo would be a decent defence player and someone like Eubank jr a goalie if he could stretch his legs post to post, lol

I’ve played a little as a teen, **** me its hard. Before you even begin to grasp the concept of controlling the puck, defensive/offensive gameplay or how to avoid being rammed into the sidewall, you’re simply trying not to fall over, learning to balance on skates.

I didn't even think Jacobs was landing much of any clean work on Pirog in the earlier rounds compared to what Dmitry was tagging him with. That man is the definition of elusiveness embodied. BS scoring shouldn't diminish what Pirog can do.

True I rate ice hockey highly on the field of exerting sports. It's damn hard to do for a long time, fun as hell though.

And there is an Eskimoe in Alaska who is potentially the best 140lb boxer in the world. Unbelievable endurance.

None of who can potentially box matters. Its all silly conjecture. What matters is who does box and how well they do it.

Do not conflate athlete with fighter. Not necessarily the same thing. Julio Cesear Chavez Sr would never make it in the NFL.

Boxing has gone international. There are good boxers from all over the world.

Go back 30-50 years the East bloc nations were not allowed to turn pro. Now they can. Like it or not it's a new factor in the sport.

Would Pacquiao have achieved the success he did if he faught years ago in the Philippines only? He'd be a great fighter only a few would have heard of.

Pro boxing is an international game now. That's a good thing. Boxing is richer for it.

Get used to it. Its here to stay.
