Why didn't GGG think of fighting Kovalev, or something similar?

It would have been an interesting fight when Kovalev was at the top of his game. That would have been a big win for GGG, but fighting Canelo was probably bigger for him, even if he never beat him. Canelo is making some good moves if he wins.. If he wins against KovalevI mean- his fights since GGG have been good picks. I cannot imagine Canelo fighting a real champ like fighting Spinks. Or even a light heavyweight Hearns would destroy him. I have to think if he beats Kovalev, he knows Kovalev is a shot fighter.

http://thaboxingvoice.com/ward-rejects-164-lb-catch-weight-for-golovkin-fight/48092/ That article you post was in 2017 which ward already was a 175 pound fighter and you expect ward to drop down 7 pounds back at 168 pounds to fight ggg? LOLOLOL!!!

Look at the article I post which was back in 2015 when ward was still fighting at 168 pounds and wanted to fight ggg at 168 pounds but ggg that coward says no and ggg says he'll fight ward but at 164 pounds. <<<<But yet ggg will only move up at 168 pounds to fight either retired froch or Chavez Jr which I already said this. Ggg back in 2017 knew ward was a full fledge light heavyweight which is why he now was brave to want to fight ward at 168 pounds.

Ggg is fooling ppl like you but he ain't fooling me.

Absolutely I do; Ward fought his entire career at 168, he demanded 168 and when he got it he STFU.

The real fools are the guys who demand Golovkin go up two divisions and then imagine its a fair fight

He later agreed to 168, son. It's called negotiation.

Exactly. The fight was on the table in 2015 , not TWO years later. GGG coming back TWO years later agreeing to 168 was baloney since he knew Ward was safely out of the picture up at 175.

He completely rejected the fight when it was viable in 2015. 2015 is all that matters.

why should GGG fight ward? Ward is a SMW and LHW, 3G is a MW. He was never interested in going to SMW or LHW< because he never once did, thatsfine, peoplecan choose.

if you want to go to 168 to fight ward or 175 to fight kov then u go! typical keypad warrior.

Ward would of got rag dolled at 200lbs. I didn't expect him to go that high when the division was deep tbf. Kovalev, Beterbiev and co. knew what was up a cruiser too so it's not like I'm singling out Ward here.

They all get served up like prize turkeys in that weight class.

Wait, aren’t champs supposed to jump up two divisions and fight anyone without negotiating? If Ward had it his way, GGG would have had to fight in Oakland, with ward’s hand picked judges, at 175 for peanuts.

Reality is, Ward had no interest in that fight. He was just flapping his gums like he is known to do. Even if GGG took the fight and won, the haters would have come up with another excuse, it’s what they do. They would have said Ward was past prime or some nonsense. One thing is certain, no one ever ducked or feared Ward. They may have feared his lack of commercial appeal or his insistence to have his fights in his backyard in Oakland, or maybe his dirty style but they didn’t fear his skill as a fighter.

History will remember Ward for what he was, a good fighter with limited punching power, dirty style and a big mouth (like his fans).

Oscar gave Trinidad that fight he stopped fighting. It was dead even to the last round & all he did was run He deserved to lose.
Mosely was juiced to the gills again
Mayweather could have been a draw it was close
