I feel Mayweathers win over Cotto is greater than any of Wards

WW is by far the most stacked division, closely followed by LW and then MW. In fact, if you look at the WW division now, the best LWs, JWWs move up to WW (Mikey, Pac) becase thats where the money is. The JMW, MW's fight at WW until their body can't take it anymore because thats where the money is (Spence, Kell Brook). Nobody is moving to SMW/LHW because that's where the money is.

    Floyds best wins:
    1. Pac - Pac was injured, and Floyd did cheat, thats a fact, but even that version of Pac was still #2-3 p4p which is far higher than any of Ward's opponents at the time he fought them.
    2. Canelo - Green or not, Canelo was walking through guys before Floyd and after Floyd, it would be too convenient to say he was shite specifically for that 1 fight.
    3. Cotto - Cotto just schooled Margo, goes on to embarrass Martinez and give Canelo a very close fight. That version of Cotto was better p4p than Corrales IMO who I think is very overrated, not to mention Corrales was facing prison charges and very dehydrated (doesn't that sound like ODLH-Pac situation?).
    4. Castillo - Castillo is a solid B level fighter beating other B-C level fighters, but has never actually beaten an A level fighter (except maybe for Floyd).
    5. Hatton/ODLH/JMM/Corrales - Hard to say how good ODLH was when Floyd beat him because before that, he lost to Sturm and a LW Mosley, a tough fight with Forbes immediately afterwards, then embarrassed by Pac. So was he good just for that 1 fight in between? Got to be consistent. Ricky Hatton was Castillo level, maybe better as he has the single best win, but they fought at 147, Hatton was physical guy and he's a bit like Horn, useless without that physical advantage that he had at 140. Corrales as I said was dehydrated and dealing with Prison and a B level guy. JMM was fat, bloated and cheated on the scales, also a stylistic nightmare for JMM.

That said, Only Kovalev, Kessler and Froch are worth mentioning. Barrera and Abraham? lol. Those C+ level guys? They're not even B-. The first 3 are equivalent to the Castillo/Corrales/Hatton on Floyd's resume. They certainly weren't #2 p4p or ATGs. All of Floyds opponents have graced the top 10 p4p, possibly top 5 (don't recall how high Castillo/Hatton got but Pac/Canelo/Cotto/ODLH/JMM were locked).

How was Canelo a 'green fighter' when he fought Mayweather? He already had about 40 pro fights at the time, almost just as many as Mayweather , and he was the current belt holder with about six defenses under his belt already.
Trust me, if he wasn't already a massive star at that point there wouldnt have been any demand for Mayweather to move up and fight him.

If Canelo was green, then so was Froch.

I would actually put Chad Dawson on Wards top 5. You might remember him as a shot fighter now, but it was Ward who shot him....coming off a layoff and moving up in weight if I remember correctly.
Say what you like about Dawson, but he is really the first and only fighter to truly kick Bernard hopkins a$$

U do know Mayweather was past prime as well against Pac and Mosley? I guess mentioning they were past prime would be an attempt to discredit Mayweather right?

Top five is deceptive. Who had a better career? Floyd did and it’s not even close. Who was a more skilled, generational great? You know it’s Floyd by a long shot. Ward was a good fighter with limited punching power and good ring IQ.
    Floyd was an ATG.

Ever wonder why Floyd had some of the biggest PPVs and could fill any stadium on the planet (even though he seemed to only fight in Vegas) and Ward could barely fill a small venue in his backyard?

The attempts to discredit Mayweathers’ greatness always fall short.

Agreed. Dawson volunteered to go down in weight and would’ve gotten his ass kicked regardless. He couldn’t dealing with mauling tactics well. Glen Johnson gave him enough problems.

Ward’s 5 spot has to be Dawson because there isn’t too much else.

Sidenote: Edwin was lineal at 175, so if you’re into lineage there’s that.
