Should re-record it so we can see your feet.

As cutthroat fade says if you want advice on footwork maybe have more of feet in shot! Positives - you throw a variety of shots I suppose, you keep your hands high. Improvements - it's a bit one paced vary the speed and power of shots, say peppers couple in quick then sit down on another couple. Move your head a bit after a combo slip or roll or duck, I know it's only a bag but good to get into that habit that shots will be coming back. Footwork hard to see but seem like a bit to much constant movement with slight lack of control over it. Also with footwork I find shadow boxing to be very beneficial.

You should find a trainer who can show you the proper mechanics for throwing punches with snap and leverage and moving with proper balance.

Think about height, if you were fighting someone as tall as you, most of your shots there be body shots.

Looked tired after a minute or less and a little clumsy. Otherwise, positives to work on.

I hate these kind of responses.

How do you know he isn’t taught properly. Seems pretty green to me, might not have absorbed what he’s being taught yet. But, yes, it’s always the trainer’s fault ... because, you see, boxing is really puppetry and the trainer doesn’t just demonstrate and coach fighters, they actually have them on strings and are responsible for every movement they make.

You should try coaching — anything: soccer, boxing, basketball, etc. And see how many people you show how to do something get it right immediately ... or even over time.

Anyway, the biggest thing I see in the video (apart from no footwork, haha) is that the OP needs to work on snapping his punches and trying to hit a spot like 2-3 inches inside the bag rather than pushing it. And needs to make sure the punches come back fast and high after he throws them.

Huh? You seem like you're projecting.

I was just trying to be helpful. He needs way more help than he can get from a bunch of guys in an Internet forum. If he has a good coach, he needs to spend a LOT more time with him... Could be wrong but he looks to me more like a mostly "self-taught" guy with a bunch of bad habits that he probably developed while punching the heavybag on his own.

OP-- There are tons of good "basics" videos available on YouTube. Here are a few that you might find useful, especially if you don't have access to a trainer in real life:

I just get sick of the ‘must be the trainer’ — guy loses, he ‘needs a new trainer’ without any thought to the idea that he might be getting good training advice and just not executing or taking it.

A lot of people come onto the training forum for affirmation that they’re better than they really are or that it’s their coach’s fault that they’re not. You’ve seen the posts. And some of them will glom onto ‘well he said I need a better trainer’ rather than ‘I need to pay attention to the one I have first.’

Yeah, I've definitely seen plenty of examples of the underlined part.

And I just noticed that OP claimed that he's a former national champion and used to be a great boxer, in another thread...

Maybe OP was a female and recently transitioned into the male form.
