Why do some of these boxers have so many amateur fights?

Because they get money from their governments and transitioning from ams to pros sometimes doesn’t go well.

Amateur boxing is practically a separate sport.

One of the reason is that in Europe it’s easy to travel so they have access to many tournements and dual matches. It usually is more difficult when boxers are young so the fact that they can cross the borders and go compete with other young boxers gives them more opportunities to have fights. It obviously increases their chances of more fight with better competition and improve their chances of winning fights in tournements so in 1 week they can have 2,3,4,5 fights depending of the number of boxers in the tournement.

Here 's what Loma did to all those ''teenagers'' who were all older than him in the 2008 Olympics

'Lomachenko won gold at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and avenged his 2007 World Championship defeat to rival and reigning world champion, Selimov, in the first round. He beat his five opponents by an astonishing 45 point margin, outscoring them 58–13, en route to his first gold medal at the senior level. He was subsequently named the outstanding boxer of the tournament and awarded the Val Barker Trophy. His dominant run was described by one historian as "probably the most impressive streak in Olympic boxing ever."

Additionally, he won gold again that year to also become continental champion at the European Championships in Liverpool, conceding just 4 points against his four opponents.

He won gold at the 2009 World Championships in Milan. Despite breaking his hand in the tournament, he beat his five opponents by a remarkable 56 point margin, outscoring them 63–7. He then competed as a lightweight at the 2011 World Championships in Baku after AIBA removed the featherweight division. There, he won his second consecutive gold medal to become a two-weight world champion.

Following a forced move up to lightweight, he won his second consecutive Olympic gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London to become a rare two-weight Olympic champion. He defeated Han-Soon-Chul of South Korea in the final, 19–9, and was a strong candidate to win the Val Barker Trophy for a second time in what would have historically been an unprecedented feat. Ultimately, he was edged by welterweight gold medal winner, Seril Sapiyev of Kazakhstan

He finished his extensive amateur career with an impressive record of 396 wins and only one loss, to Albert Selimov, which was avenged twice.'

    Timestamped

He was still an amateur here too so the collection wasn't even complete

I'm pretty sure the US Olympic Committee give out financial support to its Olympian athletes as well as performance base bonuses.

I talked to women Olympians & they said it's only a couple thousand if they win a metal. They have room & board paid for but they don't earn a livable monthly wage
