    Williams was good, but not special. He fought 4 good southpaws and three beat him, one of whom was Quintana who otherwise would've been forgettable. Winky's high guard and lack of power matched poorly with Williams. Spence isn't gonna lose to a guy with crappy defense. I rate Spence very highly h2h.

    Quintana outboxed Williams easily.

    Those fights are borderline irrelevant to how Williams and Spence match up with each other and how their fight would play out. Williams lost the first Quintana fight from being outboxed and countered on the back foot, while completely demolishing him in their immediate rematch.

    Martinez beat him by knocking him spark out., which Spence wont be doing, and their first fight had him throwing at a pace and quantity that Spence doesnt fight at and with an offense that is more explosive and more powerful than Spences.

    Spence is going to be in front of Williams trying to assert himself for the most part and wont provide half the movement and counterpunching that Lara and Quintana did.

    If a fighter provides Williams a target, then yes, Williams will indeed be special.

    Also, I rate Spence relatively highly as well. This is just a mad matchup for him imo.

    But I appreciate your perspective. Thank you.

    Spence can fight however he wants. He's just better than all mentioned.

    You think its realistic that Spence counterpunches off the back foot against Williams? Instead of, fighting like he usually does, and trying to impose himself and control center ring?

    And you think hes better than Martinez?

    Eh... time will tell I guess. I think it seems like youre overrating Spence.

    We will see though.

    He could fight off the back foot or be aggressive. Williams wouldn’t walk through his power. I don’t think Martinez would finish a fight with Spence.

    Spence would punish PW body! PW inside game was his biggest weakness.

    Interesting how the best Welter of today are shorter than some of the previous best.

    SRR 5'11
    SRL 5'10
    Kid Gavilan 5'10
    De la Hoya 5'10 1/2
    Hearns 6'1
    Etc.

    Obviously plenty of great Welter have been average or short. But it's an interesting deviation from close previous eras.

    Doesn't really mean anything, but interesting IMO.

    Spence couldn't even wobble blown up 135lb flabby leprechaun Mikey and there's no way he's outworking Paul ''The Punching Machine'' Williams. Williams TKO9 Spence.

    Speaking of punching machines.

    126 pounder LSC

    First attempt = 922

    Second = 929

    Spence first attempt = 886

    Second = 889 :risas3:

    Williams would have off nights. He also destroyed that B level southpaw in the rematch.

    Spence couldn't KO Mikey Garcia but he'll KO Williams and Sergio Martinez... nobrainer there..

    Mikey was in survival mode. He didn’t want to get stopped like Brook, Peterson, Ocampo....

    Williams UD.

    117-111 type fight, too big, too long and he’d be too active over the 12.
