How? He is fighting old boxers in their mid 30's clearly declining . Kovalev is shot! Golovkin isn't but is borderline shot.

I think Canelo is good for boxing. He is doing what Hearns, Duran and Leonard did in the 1980s.. Well more what Duran and Hearns are doing with the legit weight and fighting for titles. It is exciting. We know Kovalev is weakened now, and people see more of a blueprint to beat him now, but Kovalev is tough. I am rooting for Kovalev, and I rarely rooted for him. I want to see him use his jab and drop some punches in on Canelo wait, but use heavy punches. He has the size to do something like that.

Last thing to go is power. Everything else Kovalev chin, legs and reflex is shot. I dunno how he can deal with this gingerfied cow fed hulk coming his way.But then again Canelo looked like a midget next to Kovalev maybe the big fella man handles him.

If Kovalev was shot, he would never have won the rematch with Alvarez or the bout against Yarde. Kovalev and Golovkin might both be past their best, but neither is shot. Kovalev and Golovkin are arguably the best at their respective weight classes, and at worst, top 3 in their respective divisions.

    Great post as always!

Clearly Kovalev isn't at his peak, but clearly he is still elite and a legitimate champion who just defended his title successfully.

Canelo knows what he is doing, but I hope Kovalev fools him and has a rejuvenation. It would be great to see Kovalev win by knockout and to see Canelo after the fight thinking I think I bit off more than I can chew. The fact he picked him because he thinks he has a shot fighter is why I am rooting for Kovalev. The fight was scheduled a little quick in regards to Kovalev's last fight which was not long ago.

Looks like he’s proud of not recovering from the loss.

When the ring announced introduces the contestants in vegas
for GGG/Canelo he should have said In the red corner Gennady GGG Golovkin. In the blue corner his opponents Saul Canelo Alvarez, Bob Bennett, The NSAC, USADA & Vegas top judges. Thats about how it went down LOL

I don't even know how any true fan of the sport could watch that and give GGG props.

-First he goes back to that fake story line that he was ducked at 154, 160, and 168, and had the audacity to throw in 175. Bro, you had Lara, Andrade, Trout, and Canelo all calling you out for 154 and Canelo for 155.
-GGG ducked BJ Saunders, Derevyanchenko, Charlo at 160.
-He refused, avoided, ran from a possible fight with Ward at 168.

He's crying about wanting to fight with Canelo, and then in the same interview states he doesn't want anything to do with Canelo... LMAO!

-At the end he blatantly admits he cares two sh**s about his legacy and fans and that it is strictly business for him and nothing else. A complete 360 of before his DAZN deal when he actually was getting paid based on viewership and was telling his fans that he fought for legacy first, for breaking records, for unifying all titles.

The man is filthy rich, has more money than he and his posterity for generations will know what to do and he sounds bitter AF.

He truly is the biggest diva in boxing.

Then explain why Clenelo refuses to give him a fair fight away from Vegas, the NSAC & corruption. Thats all GGG has ever wanted but never got a fair fight with Clenelo
That says it all End of Story

Golovkin wouldn't take the second fight without a post-deadline increase in his pay from Golden Boy. Vegas site fee offers more than anywhere else and with Golovkins' priority on pay, seems that Vegas is no concern of his.

Golovkin always was a cringe-worthy personality. His big smile and cheesy "oh I speak English only sometime, speak Mexican in ring all time!" mad annoying. His butthurtness is only matched by Juan Manuel Marquez in recent years.

-Golovkin said he would fight anyone between 154-160 but refused to meet Canelo at 155

-Golovkin's biggest U.S. purse was 2 million and highest PPV #s were 170K when he demanded 10+ million for the rematch taking away from GBPs and Canelo's purse. Canelo had already had a 2.2 million buys PPV, a 1 million buys PPV, a 900K Buys PPV, and a 600K buys PPV.

-Golovkin demanded even more money for the rematch and GBP and Canelo obliged.

-Golovkin threatened not to fight if he did not approve the judges.

-Golovkin refused to fight if Canelo used his preferred gloves, so Canelo had to change gloves.

-Now Golovkin is crying about the state the fight will be held? LMAO

GGG is crying about wanting a fight with Canelo and in the same interview says he wants nothing to do with Canelo. LMAO!!

GGG also said boxing has always been strictly business, basically retracting everything he sold to his fans about legacy unifying, breaking records and being a peoples champ.

Are you a fan of GGG or do you just hate Canelo that much?

Nah..... it's not a win win situation for Canelo IMO since Kovalev is a very dangerous fighter. He can beat Canelo by way of K.O.
