I think Danny Garcia knocking Khan out was viewed as a shock and it probably was as Khan was lighting Garcia up big time.Garcia has spoken about it and said there was nothing he could against Khan in that mode but hang in and hope he could land something. Course with hindsight it would appear that this is one of Khans traits, take nothing away from Danny though as he was the first.
That one fight on that night Hatton was not gonna be denied by anyone..He took bombs that stopped him in his tracks but the will took over and he marched on !
Not sure if it's been mentioned but I'm gonna add Lennox Lewis against Vitali.I remember watching that fight and thinking Lennox had absolutely no chance,so one sided was it early on.Not even gonna mention the cuts as Lennox found something from sheer force of will and pride, the heat on those Jabs from Lennox and the shots he traded with Vitali are as brutal as they come without getting knocked out imo. Just shows that even the more skilled boxer has to sometimes pull out something more on the night.
whilst I don't think he won I was mighty impressed with Canelo in the rematch.did the opposite of what we all thought.
Lol at least you're honest I've long said that without Oscars B.S. he would be admired. It was Oscar that made him look a nob with the WBC belt, most likely Oscar who sets the catch weights to drain opponents and it's definitely Oscar who dresses up in fishnets and likes kitchen utensils. How can you ever respect a manager like that lol.
I don't think a fight like this was really about will but more about Margarito just being in better physical condition. Imo, it doesn't become about being a battle of "will's" until both fighters are equally exhausted that it has equally hindered their ability to maneuver and be sharp in their motions. The 15 round era had more fights where winning and losing became about who's will was greater. There was an old saying back in the day of the 15 round era by the fighters themselves, "the last three rounds are not about boxing, its a battle of will's." Ali-Frazier, Holmes-Norton, come to mind.
I feel like I wrote that myself its that perfect..He wanted GGG all along, Oscar knew prime G would be too much so made him sit it out for a bit, it made Ginge look bad..Canelo has massive bollox, I could see he wanted to genuinely chin GGG in the lead up to the rematch, he was gagging for it..Now the Kov fight, with no catchweight, Kov's not prime anymore but its still a massive jump..As you say, ginge would be loved with a different promoter, maybe a couple more losses on his record before he hit his prime, but he'd be respected by all
Get out of here, its not about will if the ref stops a fight due to cuts, and it this case the fight was only in the 6th round, to early for it to become about "will!" That fight continues and Lennox was about to get run over as Vitali was well above in way better physical condition than he was.
Yeah.....no. It was about Margartio having concrete fists. Easier to be the guy in "better condition" when you're punching his face in with concrete and cutting up his face like ribbons. But yeah sure....
