Loved Eddie back in the day. Johnson, Braxton, Spinks, EMM, Saad...my favorite light-heavy era.

 

Holmes-Shavers I

Practically the perfect fight, exemplified by LH's perfect timing: Shavers would have been stopped the next round (check out how he was basically saved by the bell at the very end of the fight).

In some ways a more perfect tactical fight than the Leonard-Hagler, especially in that Holmes pretty much shut out Shavers, while Leonard most certainly didn't do that to Hagler.

 

Might have been mentioned already, but an underrated one is McGirt's dissection of Simon Brown. Beautiful performance by Buddy who rendered Brown's size and power advantages totally irrelevant.

Brilliant shout. Sal was phenomenal in that first fight. Was as if he had a force field around him and could see Lopez's moves a few seconds before Lopez himself could. Every bit as amazing as the Gomez performance, for me.

 

Best showcase of his footwork IMO.
