Is Spence overrated?

Canelo is a bad example as that ginger has a MASSIVE corruption machine behind him. I could agree to that, that this whole generation is overrated.

 

Or Porter may have just fought the fight of his career. This Porter beats Thurman easy.

Oh really?? How many good to great wins does Lara have, Trout beat Cotto, Danny Jacobs is elite?? Those guys are clearly Porter level fighters..

Hard to say. Sometimes styles are hard for certain fighters. You cannot say one fighter makes a fighter overrated. The totality of the career means more. The fact is Porter put up a hell of a fight however Spence did knock him down late and won the fight with more punches. Let's see how he does with Danny Garcia next. The next 5-10 fights will tell us what Spence has.

Yes. People have him as the next dominant WW who is supposed to clear out the division and become undisputed champ and he is not that. He almost took an L tonight from a guy who got beat easier by Thurman when Thurman was Thurman. Not saying it was easy for KT but he didnt go life and death like Spence just did. Garcia also couldve gotten the decision over Porter too. From the hype people were talking about Spence walking through Porter which was laughable.
Spence is a good fighter but hes limited and has weaknesses that more skilled fighters can exploit and he doesnt seem to be a guy that makes adjustments rather he just keeps coming and tries to wear you down. Whats he going to do when he cant do that? People say he chose to brawl with Porter to beat him at his own game, bs! There were spots where he tried to box and was getting nailed and just had to let his hands fly or hold to stop Porters onslaught.
I think Crawford beats him and may do so with a serious schooling because Bud is a MASTER tactician who is top level at adjustments and Spence will not be able to keep up. This is chess not checkers. If Thurman ever gets to his best version again he could give Spence lots of problems and sure KT isnt getting knock outs like he used to but he can hurt you if he sits on something and catches you. Manny is too old but hes so crafty hes going to be tough for the first 6 rounds before he fades and the wildcard is Danny. People sleep on this dude but I think he'll give Spence a tough fight before Spence wears him down and stops him.
I hope we get to see Pac Spence next because it should be the passing of the guard fight but you cant count Pac out. He is still dangerous.

If you put this post in the past tense I would agree.
He had 2 years off, took a beating and is going to take another year off to get his hand fixed.
He is never getting back to his best.

 

Grant Hill put in some good years after his ailments. Thurman doesn't have many miles or wars on him, he can come back at a high level. Too bad it might be at the end of his physical prime though.

 

I don't see Canelo as overrated. To me he is the top fighter in boxing now. If you are not exceptional you cannot even be thought or rumored to have a big machine behind him.
