If he can't stand up to shots like this with HEADGEAR on, once he starts fighting live bodies, he may start taking canvas naps in the pros! This content is protected
Not many iron chins in hw boxing just now. Ruiz is certainly solid and maybe Hrgovic. Yoka is probably no worse than Joshua.
Might end up being true.. But Savon is a savage in the amateurs, he's dropped a lot of ppl with headguards
Headgear is overrated, the only ones that really protect you from being concussed are the ones with a cage
This is interesting, although I find it to be counter-intuitive, given the function of headgear is precisely to protect against being punched in the head. However, if what you say is true, then it would argue that Yoka would have BETTER punch resistance in the pros. This doesn't seem plausible to me - and in any event, he might still have a glass jaw, just perhaps not as super-fragile as this KO in the ams suggests. We will see once he starts facing live bodies.
Headgear is primarily used to prohibit facial cuts and for swelling in certain areas. It doesnt do jack **** in regards to helping a fighter absorb punishment upstairs. The gloves used in the amateurs, especially where the padding is, plays the biggest factor in amateur fighters being able to take bigger shots than in the pro game.
If it were true? Why do you think the Olympics dropped head guards? This was their reasoning after decades of analsysis
