Miocic sustained a major retina injury from multiple eye pokes during his bout at UFC 241. Should Stipe give Cormier another opportunity to stab his fingers in his eyes ?
Cormier has said he wants a third fight with Miocic. He comes off as a nice guy, yet Stipe may have to undergo retina surgery after two encounters with him.
I don't mind seeing a 3rd fight between them. Cormier quickly ko'd Miocic in the first fight and was beating him up in the first couple of rds of the 2nd fight. Why not have a third fight to settle it ? Jon Jones seems scared to go up to heavy especially now he can't use PED's and while Ngannou is looking good again recently he was humiliated and totally outclassed when he had his shot at Miocic and who will ever forget his embarrassing scared to fight display against Derrick Lewis.
Cormier was being outfought and outmaneuvered in the first fight until he began to gouge out Miocic's eyes. Cormier did better in the first couple of rounds in their second fight, but once again resorted to jamming his finger in Stipe's eye when the tide began to turn in Miocic's favor during round 3. Why should Stipe risk his vision again ?
Not worth losing his sight over.Cormier has previous for this and it seems to be catching on with others.My guess is,if they automatically gave the win to the guy who'd been poked,we'd see much less of this?
I like DC from the little I’ve seen of him. Yeah sure he messed up with eye pokes but I don’t see him as a villain for it quite yet, maybe if there’s a third in a row, lol
Wrong ! Daniel beat Stipe's ass every second of every of every round until the middle of the 4th. where he got sloppy and threw the fight away. That won't happen again ! Daniel is a better wrestler and a better boxer and just has a lot more talent/ability...
Stipe was getting beat anyway. DC was catching him with the jab and right hand. The eye poke sucked but that didn't win him the fight..
The eye poke didn't win Cormier the second fight but it was still a calculated, malicious attempt at disrupting the momentum Stipe was beginning to build. As a result of Cormier's tactics Miocic will have to undergo surgery for a damaged retina.
