Disagree, Canelo would get out pointed in a 3 rd amateur fight, in a 12 rd pro fight Canelo would obviously win, probably by stoppage in the mid rounds.

 

No amateur boxer can outbox Canelo for the first 3 rounds, he is far more skilled than any amateur around today.

 

The Cuban wouldn`t land much either because Canelo has a better defense than any amateur.

 

Khan didn`t land much in the first 3 rounds, he was mainly running.

 

That`s wrong in the sense that it`s not a physical difference, it`s the experience and knowing how to work out a fighter and adapt mid fight that amateurs lack compared to a savvy pro like Ali who wasn`t nearly as good when he turned pro and fought basdly in some of his earlier bouts compared to when he reached his peak v Williams, Ali was floored by Doug Jones and it ws a close fight, while a prime AAli would have toyed with Jones, Ali was also pretty bad in his first bout v Cooper but far better by the rematch.

 

Froch didn`t have an elite defense and was even beaten by Eubank Jr in sparring, youy are not supposed to fight full on sparring anyway, it`s just practise for you to try out your moves, Shane Mosley even copied fighters styles so his sparring partner could get used to fighting that style, no way could an amateur land that much on a good defensive pro fighter, Ward said the Diaz brother gave him all he could handle in sparring yet he would box eityher man`s head off in a proper bout.

 

Bellew didn`t do **** v Usyk for the first 3 rounds and Floyd adjusted to Judah, working his body, Judah was nevder a world class fighter, he could be worked out and had no plan B, that`s the difference between top pros like Floyd and amateurs they develop a plan B through experience, amateurs don`t learn that fighting 3 rounders, it`s no kind of prep for a fight with a world class pro at all.

A pro beats an amateur in a real fight. Sparring is a controlled environment that means nothing in the grand scheme of things...but elite amateurs often get the better of pro's over 3-4rds in these controlled settings. That's common knowledge in these gyms, everyone knows it and there's no shame in that.

Unless your Lomachenko, the greatest amateur to ever live, you're not going out and boxing the ears of world champs in a title fight.

Now, put Canelo in the olympics at 165lbs with huge foam gloves and amateur scoring system? He's exiting the tournament early, bro. It's not like he's getting smoked but these Cubans got him on points all day long.
