is it possible to believe that Porter deserved the win despite the two knockdowns? And also that Fury lost despite the two knockdowns? I think there’s a few here who feel that way, if you have time can you please explain it to me because I don’t get how that’s actually possible. Thanks
Because boxing is judged round by round.A knockdown would usually be scored as a 10/8 round. Still not seen the fight so I couldn't comment albeit in a close fight the guy with the knockdown would think himself unlucky to lose.
It’s just that for me I thought it was a much more dominant display from fury In the rounds he stayed on his feet, and yet there is a bigger feeling that porter was robbed when most of the rounds were a lot closer. Great fight though has to be fight of the year
It was a close fight between Spence and Porter but Errol was landing more clean shots than Shawn for a good majority of the fight. i also thought Errol won the first 3 or 4 rounds cleanly so he already had a leg up on Shawn going into the middle rounds. That knockdown really helped Errol in a fight I thought he won 7-5. Shawn has never been dominated by anyone as a pro, his style combined with his level of toughness and high volume of punches makes him a tough out against any WW. As far as Fury, I thought he won his fight 9 rounds to 3 but there were a couple close rounds in the middle which i think was Tyson not really being outboxed but more so just taking his foot off the gas (maybe to catch a second wind,) so it is conceivable that Wilder MIGHT'VE won 4 rounds in that fight. I personally think it was 9-3 but I would'nt make a big stink about it being 8-4 which ultimately could result in a draw when you score the two knockdown rounds. No way Wilder won more than 4 rounds in that fight though, Tyson made him look bad for the majority of the night. I think it's silly that Wilder has come out publicly and said he clearly won the first 4 rounds. He might've won 1 round out of the first 4 and that would be at the very max.
I had fury winning 9 rounds of the fight, so even with the two points reduction he was still up on the cards.
Well, I had Wilder-Fury a draw with two KD's. I had Porter winning with one. Here's the catch though. Not many thought Wilder won the match, just that with the two KD's, neither did Fury. The draw wasn't egregious.
Subtract all the points Spence should've had deducted from his score for all the low blows he landed and then do the same for all the points he should've had deducted for pulling the ''Ouch! That really hurt!'' face everytime Pity Pat Porter cracked him with a flush shot up top which is tantamount to a KD where I come from and even more embarrassing and therefore a 10-8 round (in accordance with Gypsy Rules) and Porter wins via shutout.
^^That too lol... Porter is not a hard hitter despite what his musckles say. Shades of Timmy. Fury got knocked down twice and got the draw.
I had Porter slightly ahead going into the 11th, but Porter let the fight slip away with both the knockdown in the 11th and then giving up the 12th. I had Fury slightly winning by two points against Wilder, but after watching the fight a second time a draw seemed reasonable.
