Have not heard that but fush the WBC. They are bought and paid for anyway, what does a fighter have to lose? I bet if Canelo decided to fight for Mexico in the Olympics the WBC would make a special belt for the weight class he decides to fight in and hold the title for him until he returns.
Is it same WBC which stands for - This content is protected e This content is protected low This content is protected anelo ?
WBC will fold. Suledope actually admits to matchmaking as a fundamental safety net in boxing, roflmao. How frail is that?
A totally pointless operation on their part. I guess to dissuade any of their champs fighting in the Olympics and losing the WBC sanctioning fees.
But if you get caught juicing you either get 6 months or no suspension at all. Also wonder what the WBC would do if Canelo decides to fight at the Olympics...
So pros competing against amateurs is highly dangerous and immoral but darlings of the WBC like Bum Squad beating up on janitors, street vendors, traffic cops, sanitation workers, valet attendants, and retired dog trainers isn't?
Pros fighting in the Olympics is a pointless idea anyway. They're different sports, and pros aren't at an advantage at all. Quite the opposite.
Still, wouldn't it be more the WBC's style to design a special belt for the occasion and ask sanction fees instead? They can even make a gold, silver and 2 bronze ones for it. The WBC Olympic Gold/Silver/Bronze belt, and they can add Franchise, Aztec and Mayan versions of those as well.
Aside from the fact that the Sulaimans (both father and son) had/have a totally bizarre belt fetish ... to the point it's now gotten creepy ... The truth is the Sulaiman-led (both father and son) WBC have spearheaded all the health initiatives in the sport of boxing going back 30 years. The other orgs all follow the lead of the WBC when it comes to every safety or health program or rule in place in pro boxing today. And the current Sulaiman was totally outraged and livid by that recent KO scored in the AIBA tournament where the pro Uzbek boxer Jalolov knocked out the American Richard Torrez. And Sulaiman posted about it on various social media. The WBC isn't wrong about this.
You don't think Canelo would be at an advantage against Anthony Fowler who fought at MW (165lbs) in the 2016 Olympics?
There's like "17" other org. belts to fight for. The ban has no teeth. The WBC will soon realize that and cave once those sanctioning fees dry up.
