    A pro thai boxer can be more skilled at punching than an olympic gold medalist sometimes.

    Yeah heres an example. Mikey Garcia was top 10 p4p recently. An amateur Loma beats Mikey over 3 rounds no questions asked.

    Don't you need to be ranked to fight for a title? so surely it is impossible to win one in your first fight? That's why Loma fought for one in his second as the WBO said as he isn't ranked, he can't

    the question was can they win a world title, the ppl with world titles aren't necessarily the top 10 P4P.

    Using Ring Magazine P4P I don't think any amateurs could beat them 1st fight

    As far as amateur winning the fight on skill, it's more than possible. I think the bigger problem is presenting that golden opportunity on the first fight.

    Loma is no longer an amateur but did mature faster than most amateurs do, I don`t know what you`re trying to say, most pros start off as amateurs but I don`t know if Garcia did.
