Is it possible for an amateur to win a world title in his first pro fight?

Yes of course there have been some really shitty champs and some really good amateurs.

Loma almost did it in his 2nd pro fight and actually won on one of the cards + was fouled a million times + had to deal with a corrupt ref + almost knocked out Salido in the last round. So although it was his second fight and he only almost won a title but didn't actually win one, it shows that it's definitely possible.

Olympic Gold medalists are definitely elite boxers of the first order, but they’re elite amateur boxers. The professional league is a completely different world.

Anybody that knows boxing knows that if they got the chance, certain-not many-elite Am's could win a "World" title in their first fight. Lomo and Usyk are recent examples. Clay/Ali was not an elite Am of that caliber. A better question is could they win THE world title, ie beat the best pro in their weigh class. Conversely, how many Pro champs would win the Olympics? No ABC belts, less weight classes, and I was going to say a more equal playing field as regards neutrality and judging but maybe not the latter.

Ali was finished by then, I`m talking about prime Ali or when there was actual talkof Teo fighting Ali before the Spinks bout.

No what Im saying is, Mikey Garica was rated P4P top 10 up until last year (on some lists even still), and I think that Loma when he turned pro could have beat Mikey Garcia over a 3 round contest
