fair point, but he actually had a 73 inch reach, but yes he did have a huge reach compared to his opponents but consider that Ray Leonard had a 76 inch reach puts it into perspective, I read an article posted on here by Lee Wylie where he compares Robi`s reach advantage to that of Hearns, which is taking things too far as Tommy had a reach of 78inches, but I get what you and Wylie are saying, plus he pumped a constant jab and moved fully exploiting that reach, cheers.

okay that`s a good point but Canelo isn`t really known for his reach since he came up from 154, this is one of the reasons he might struggle a bit at light heavy specifically v Kov who will fully eploit his reach with a great jab.

Sorry, I just read an article pasted here from Lee Wylie, who stated Robi actually had a 73 inch reach, and yes it was a longer reach than most of his opponents.

I agree. He had one hell of a chin though, like everything else.

In your post Mark you stated “didn’t he only have a 74 inch reach though” you seemed to be saying it was a disadvantage.

IMO opinion? The Greatest fighter pvp EVER!
By the "St. Valentine's Day massacre he was 131-1-1.
    1. Avenged his loss 4x (outweighed) by a ton only to kick Jake's butt 20 days later (still outweighed).
    2. Avenged his draw with Basora.
    3. Not to mention his amateur career.
    4. Basically fought once a month for 10 years!
    5. Retired, and came back (a shell of his previous self) and engaged in some of the greatest fights ever!
    6. With well over 200 fights continued until he was 44 years old!
    7. No contemporary champion could have come close to doing what he accomplished!
    8. Fighting once a month for 10 years? All the modern ATG's would have had SEVERAL more losses on their record if they engaged in Sugar's work rate, if they even could have lasted.
    9. What if Ray would have been born in 1970? Now that's downright scary!! "bring on the body bags!"
    Arguably more charisma then Ali!
I'm out; IMO there is simply NO argument here!
    My $0.02
