Battle of the Middleweight monsters! Would be terrifying.

    Who wins?

Walker by KO. Walker is one of the 10-20 greatest fighters who ever lived.

Best against best, I see Steele outclassing Walker, winning by a couple points, one step ahead more often than not and landing the flashier punches. Hard fought win.

Steele takes it on points. He'd be able to out strength Walker and out box him.
Some of the exchanges would be brutal, I think that Steele lands the sharper punches and lands more jabs, so takes a UD

Walker is several steps above Steele. Walker outclasses him for the decision.

kind of depressing with NO sunlight in the script. I preferred Travis Bickles descent into madness in "Taxi Driver". Which I love. I like Phoenix. He does a great job. Its just not enjoyable.

There are no "several" steps above Steele. There is no "class" above Steele. He was never beaten in his rather lengthy prime.

He took down Ceferino Garcia, Gorilla Jones, Gus Lesvenich Ken Overlin, Fred Apostoli, Vince Dundee, Babe Risko, Solly Krieger... How does the cream of Walker's resume at middleweight stack up to that?

Seamus is absolutely correct here, and not just about Steele, but hundreds like him.

    Houdini, Respectfully,
that statement is just another example of what's wrong about Boxing Forums, Fans and this automatic 'alignment' with Champion Status often thrown into the untouchable, remarkable or la la land. Achievement based usually, although in Walkers case the courage and tenure of fighting big men is considered here.

Steele didn't per say, but so what, Mickey lost to the big boys, guess what MOST Smaller men do, and fighters like Steele don't need those fights to prove their worth.

Steele was great, so was Walker and like George C said, Steele would out box him and be too dynamic for Walker, with movement, style, power and ability... also Steele's Era was 'overall' better, boxing athleticized by the mid 30s more so than previous eras, jumping it into a combination of tough and capale men, now with more skilful athletic attributes as part of their arsenal, again more so than previous eras.

as I've always said there's GREAT, Great and great, with little between them.

Steele out boxes and out punches Walker to point out the decision.

Nothing on Walker's middleweight resume suggests this it even tenuously true!

The first thing I thought of when I read his comment was ,"what did Mickey do at160lbs to elevate him so far over Steele?"
    The answer is NOTHING!

I'm surprised your uneducated, frivolous comment even got a response.

I thought it was good, if not a bit of a ripoff of taxi driver

Oh also Steele by a hard fought, close decision
