I believe I was the third person to actually find it in the South Carolina resource.

It's a snippet of a guy clowning. Did you see Tunney fight on film? Walker? Loughran? Gibbons? Brennan? Did you read about him going 45-0 in 1919, beating 5 Hall of Famers a total of 10 times?

 

No question Greb's record is amazing against fighters IN HIS ERA. I respect fighters from the past for what they accomplished and did for the sport but I do not believe the guys from that era better than more modern guys like Holyfield. I have seen plenty of film of Gene Tunney and don't believe he would last long at all against a guy like Holyfield. I base that comment off of watching both Holyfield and Tunney fight. I see a very clear gap between the two fighters.

I guess it is really pointless for me to argue this any further since this thread is going to turn into pages and pages of back and forth with no one willing to change there opinion. I just don't see what some of you guys see when watching a lot of these guys.

 

Greb has NO Chance against Holyfield or other fighters like him, come on.

but with respect to Tunney, Tunney today would be a S-MW cum L-HW, with all the months to trim down before a fight.

just look at the height and walk around weight of ALL the S-MWS and L-HWs, why would lean, smaller men like Tunney not do the same if projected into the fight game of the 80s onward, just look at the Stature of ALL Top fighters in those divisions, they are all (generally speaking), either side of 6' in height and walk around at close to 200lbs, sounds like past HWs.

 

I hope he was clowning.If he fights like that against Holyfield, he won’t make it out of the first round

I would be interested in posting on this thread if it was a prime Holyfield v a prime Greb.As it isn't I'm not.
