UFC will take home big dollars again via ripping off the fans again this weekend A stadium show with over 50,000 should be a stacked card with a few belts on the line. Other than the main event which is PPV worthy. Co main is a free fight night show. The rest is a Prelim card of fighters that struggle for a win. UFC will once again profit off the gate while paying the locals peanuts. It's a damn Stadium FFS UFC give Aus some respect with some big names, been ****ing Aus over after the first Sydney show that was stacked.
I'm betting Israel. Hollywood took over UFC. They're probably putting voodoo on my boy Whittaker. I'm rooting for Whittaker but I have 200 on Israel to win at +150. It should be an awesome fight either way!
Well said mate,I have been saying the same thing for a while now,the UFC is starting to take the **** with some of these recent cards we have got ,as they know we are 1 of the biggest fan bases in the world for all combat sport.
The main event is 1 of the best fights of the year obviously but the rest of the card outside Hooker v Iaquinta looks like a shitty fight night card. UFC is just lucky they didn't get more injuries as they obviously don't care or didn't learn from the fiasco of the last PPV card here,which exposed how weak the card was with only 2 fights at the top that were PPV worthy, that became only 1 decent fight after Whitakers last minute injury that left us with a 3 round main even with Adesanya v old man Silva while the rest of the card was straight garbage
Yeah i forgot he even existed, on the main card when he is barely Prelim worthy. UFC did their homework well with Melbourne, they will buy tickets to watch anything, even if they don't even know what it is they are watching.
You do realize UFC gate revenue is legit nothing compared to major boxing events? Even with 50k in attendance.
Yeah he's fighting and he's not very good either. His only ONE passable win in his whole career was a razor thin decision win over a washed up ancient Arlovski in a fight that could have easily gone the other way. A draw probably would have been a fair result in that fight. No way should a fighter like Tuivasa be on a ppv main card. A ppv main card should be headlined by a title fight or a big marque fight and the other 4 fights on the main card should consist of top 10 fighters fighting each other in meaningful fights for their divisions. This Melbourne card is absolutely garbage as the original thread starter suggested. Incredibly watered down ppv for fans stupid enough to cough up the $60 or $70 or whatever they charge.
It would have been hilarious if Whitakker-Adesanya fell through a few days out due to injury with no other top middleweights on the card ready to step up etc etc. How stupid are the ufc not to have had a solid 185 lb fight between two top 10 guys on the card somewhere just in case.
