What was Bruno accused of saying about McCall's father?

Bruno accused McCalls father of calling Marciano a great fighter.

The beef hasn’t settled till this day.

 

I do know Bruno said he’d rather fight Lennox Lewis seven days a week rather than fight Tyson once a year. Thought that was funny. Always liked Frank.

 

Bruno called him a wanker.

 

Oliver was a crackhead.

 

Bruno was very emotional after the fight I remember, he seemed more concerned with what was supposed to have been said rather than celebrating his win. There were early signs I believe there, that Frank was developing his mental health problem s. After all those years of trying for the belt, and finally getting it, it seemed as if there other things on his mind.

 

I was so disappointed when Larry lost to him (especially when it seemed to me he was winning after 8 rounds). I held the same contempt for McCall Larry did...mediocre fighter who got a lucky shot in (Lewis) and accomplished much less than even Mike did in beating a great-grandpa Larry (who more than held his own).

 

The only guy that Bruno fought who he could have ever been accused of saying anything about the guys father was Lennox Lewis. And that’s because Lewis’s biological father Rupert was part of Franks early team dating back before Lewis returned to England from Canada. Frank probably knew Lewis’s dad more than Lennox did and it caused extra friction between them because I think Rupert was still going to work with Frank even after he signed to fight Lennox. Rupert used to massage Frank after a workout and was considered quite vital to him. Bruno’s previous challenge for a world title was against Lennox Lewis. All I can think is Frank still wanted to talk about that after beating McCall. I never heard about McCall having a father.

 

That’s a very odd thing to say.

 

Yep, ur right and I can understand why Frank would be like that. But after watching Bruno a lot of years, right back to the Bone crusher fight, Bruno seemed different. After all those years of trying to win a title he just didn't seem to rejoice as much as I thought he would and seemed more bothered regarding the words that had been said. I could be mistaken but It just didn't seem like the frank of old.

 

Lewis left England as a child with his mother. I don’t know the family situation before he left the U.K., I guess his parents were not to together because lennox’s Father and his older Brother certainly never went to live in Canada. Lewis only came back to the U.K. when he turned pro in 1989. Bruno had been a pro boxer for at least 8 years or so and Rupert had been part of Franks team for all that time.
