I often find Danny Jacobs gets forgotten in some of the mw discussions I see on ESB. In Jacobs last 7 fights he has fought 5 undefeated fighters as well as Canelo, and regardless of how anyone may have scored those fights he has been competitive in all of them. I have picked for and against Jacobs previously. I picked against him when he fought Pirog and Sulecki and picked for him against Golovkin. This thread isn't about how you may have scored any of those fights but credit to Jacobs with who he has fought - undefeated Golovkin, undefeated Quillin, undefeated Derevyanchenko, undefeated Sulecki, undefeated Arias. Let's be fair and agree that is some mw run to not have a clear loss
Callum Smith v Jacobs is coming soon.. if he stays at 168.. bet ya Very good fighter but I think GGG did beat him clearly.. by at least 3 points.. jabbed his head off..
Fair enough I only watched that fight once live. I had favoured Jacobs and thought he had done enough on the night. Maybe I should watch it again
Give it a watch, very disciplined performance by GGG.. jabbing clinic.. Had it 7-5 GGG plus he got a KD.. he looks much fresher in it than what we've recently seen.. Who u got in a potential Smith fight?
I think Jacobs was a pretty big MW all considered though.. I'd certainly prefer it to John Ryder.. no disrespect to him he's improved somewhat but it's probably a mismatch..
I think it could be the right time for Smith even though I have never been sold on him. I wonder if being a natural smw could come into things also.
Fair enough Smw does not seem at its strongest at the moment and has a fair few former mws there at the moment I think Saunders movement could trouble Smith but don't know who I would favour
