    Some terrible shouts about decline.

you’d think he was proper washed up. He’s just beat a top class opponent and dropped him in the process.

still more in the tank but steer clear of Canelo.

The problem is there's nothing left for him to achieve in the sport except beat Canelo and he's too far gone for that now. That's why I personally want him to retire. In my mind at his best he was one of the greatest middleweights even and would've beat Canelo prime for prime. All he's doing now is hanging around for a loss v a guy who he'd have slaughtered in his prime. I don't like boxers picking up needless defeats at the end of their career. Just my opinion.

I’d like to see GGG Eubank, either weight.

Great vid from the general section. Slowmotion of the punches that actually connected. TBF I'm not sure how much focus was on GGG as opposed to Sergey, but the telling blows in this segment are obvious.

I think @CST80 is on the money with Triple G. He's in his "Mayweather" fighting phase of his career now. I don't mean the defensive genius, but the conservation of energy and letting opponents hit arms, elbows and air.

he can unify the division. If he was in with Charlo or Andrade he’d still be comfortable favourite. Canelo surely vacates gets stripped.

His accuracy was gone against SD. All the power in the world is no good if you miss.

    jabs 107/406 = 26.4%
    Power punches 136/314 = 43.3%
    Total 243/720 = 33.8%

As opposed to Golovokin v Canelo 1.

    jabs 108/361 =29.9%
    power punches 110/342 = 32.2%
    Total 218/703 = 31%

so that’s not correct Len. Slightly less accurate with his jab which he threw more than he did against Canelo. Threw less power punches but a lot more accurate and in general threw slightly more and was more accurate in the SD.

To be fair to Len, Canelo is a lot harder to hit than SD

Would love to see SD against Andrade or Saunders. I think he beats Andrade, and for Saunders it would tell us where Saunders really is at this stage. If BJS could beat SD more convincingly than GGG or Jacobs did we could finally say he is up there near the top of the division.

Not a robbery at all. Most scored it 114-113 either way. For a judge to be an additional round out in a close fight is not a robbery at all. The suggestions of corruption here is laughable.

FWIW I had 114-113 GGG. Wouldn't have whinged had it gone the other way, love to see a rematch

The bald numbers do not tell the whole story scissors. He was slower and less accurate Vs SD. Missing punches he should have landed, and missing opportunities to throw punches that he never got off with. Maybe he was just ill, but he didn't look great. Anyone who really understands boxing could see it. Surely you agree?

Agree in all respects. Nothing to achieve by boxing Canelo again apart from money, he's already given two great accounts in the fights.

He is not washed up at all. It's a natural decline in power, speed and reflexes which is what is meant to happen when boxers age and don't take performance enhancing drugs.

It's similar to Kovalev. People calling him washed up when he's put in some of his career best performances AFTER his defeats to Ward albeit with the defeat to Alvarez in their first fight. I'm backing him to knock out Canelo. The only thing going against him is the quick turnaround from the Yarde fight.

Anyway, back to Golovkin. If I was Golovkin I'd just fight now for money. If I was him I'd push for a fight with Eubank. It would be a PPV in the UK (like it or not), regardless of whether it takes place stateside or in the UK and it would be an absolutely firecracker of a fight in the ring. If he wants a "big drama show" which will earn him some serious dough in a packed out arena, Christopher Livingstone Eubank Jr is the man to fight.

I have never subscribed to the GGG hype ....So i am not sure that there is a huge decline,i thought it was a standard GGG performance..

His best win was Danny Jacobs which could easily went the other way and apart from that he was knocking over B level fighters all his career!!

I can't believe the criticism Golvkin is getting. Do people forget that in everyone's but the judges eyes he won the first fight against a prime and Clen using Alvarez? He beat a very solid contender on Saturday, sure he's probably past his best but he's still up there as arguably the best middleweight at present. We don't know what post Clen Alvarez is anymore but he certainly doesn't seem to be a middleweight, the bloke is fighting at Light Heavy next month.
