Price is definitely getting paid. He was in a good position to negotiate when Hearn said the event would be moved off PPV if they couldn't find a suitable replacement.
I'm buzzing for this now, good addition to the card. Whilst it means less, likely be a better fight than the Parker bout. Be a good laugh whichever way it goes.
Will give more entertainment for the PPV than Chisora vs Parker would have. For the next 3 weeks Pricey needs to lock himself in a trap house and listen to the most violent drill songs on loop. Unleash the roadman. It'd be an amazing story if he wins, as he'd be in line for a super super fight after it.
Pricey the Roadman lmfao. David "the Phoenix" Price. If the guy fell in a barrel of thumbs he'd come up sucking a tit. Parker is boring AF and a paid stooge, so glad he's out of it. Probably won't last long, and I'd have preferred Joyce, but the entertainment in the run-up and during more than makes up for it.
I think the winner of Ruiz/AJ is obligated to face Pulev (IBF) and Usyk (WBO) so I cant see it. I can see the winner of Chisora/Price fighting Parker or Usyk early next year in an eliminator though
As a fight to try bolster a PPV this isn't a great replacement But as someone who has tickets I'm delighted, seeing one of these lads getting sparked will be mint
I think it will be a one-sided massacre ,Price is gone he cant pull the trigger any more. Lovely guy and I wish him well but this isn't a PPV fight and the top of the bill doesn't justify being PPV with a poor opponent for the main support.Im glad I haven't bought tickets and I wont be now!
Can Price utilise his jab and then uppercut in close like he did against Allen? I think he can for a few rounds but I think Chisora will rough house in close and eventually clip that chin for a show real KO
I think Price’s only hope is to knock Chisora out. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility. Chisora has a great chin but he was brutally KO’d by Haye and Whyte. I’d bet that a Pricey right hand is just as, if not more devastating, than a Hayemaker from David or a left hook from Whyte. Similarly we’ve seen Chisora left pizzafaced and beaten to within a few inches of his life by a Tyson Fury jab and move masterclass so Price May decide that jabbing from range is the best approach here. I can’t see it though. Chisora will bob and weave until he’s in close and rip in the hooks and overhand rights and Price won’t like it. It’s one thing easing through the distance against Dave Allen but it’s another thing doing it against Chisora who fights at a much higher tempo these days and with far more variety in his punches.
Who has Price ko'd in the last 7 years that indicates he is likely to stop Chisora? Outboxing Dave Allen has never been a feat novice Yoko beat him! This is a cynical mismatch.
Where have I said that it is “likely” that Price stops Chisora? I’m merely analysing his best options at winning. I even mentioned in my post that out boxing Allen is nothing compared to what it takes to outbox Chisora. Read my post on the previous page and you’ll see that I’m expecting Chisora to knock him out easily. Top class reading comprehension there.
This is the problem. Price seems reluctant to let his hands go incase he gasses. I think the Allen win has given him confidence in his boxing and stamina but I think Chisora will knock it out of him
