Man this is a fun fight...Non stop action! The only disappointing issue was between 6 and 7 where they announced there would be no boxing next Saturday so they could broadcast an all-star bowling tournament...I think that may be the cause of the decline in boxing’s popularity more than PPV or abc belts...those darn popular bowling tournaments...oh well. anyway if you haven’t seen this you gotta watch it bro This content is protected
Gaspar Ortega. The 'gunslinger' boxer. You know this guy used to travel around with his brother looking for fights at the start of his pro career? No manager needed! Thanks Philly, I'll watch this later.
Watching now, it's a real gem. How did you score it? Thanks for posting, and thanks to Flea for uploading.
One of the best things about this, is watching a Mexican in a slug fest without the commentators droning on about "Mexican style" and how they make them tough in Mexico.
A lot of the rounds are pretty close, but I'm not sure if I'd give that many to Ortega, there's a couple rounds I want to rewatch and a couple I have even though.
I would love to see a card from you or others...even the judges I know their scores but not the rounds. 5-4-1 6-3-1 6-1-3 I would like to know which rounds.
I had it 1 Ortega 2 Scott* 3 Scott 4 Scott 5 Scott* 6 Scott 7 Ortega 8 Even 9 Scott 10 Scott 7-2-1 On rewatching I changed 5 from even to Scott, the glitches in 2 and 5 put an asterisk on those rounds though. Overall I thought Scott's accuracy was better, and he looked stronger at times, and it was enough to win most of the rounds, but was closer overall than round by round. Not the easier to score though, and I'm not the most experienced in scoring fights, I'd be interested in how others have it Edit: The Associated Press also had it 7-2-1, that made me smile
thanks! Rd 5 I had as even and scored for Ortega at the end. But think it was very close. hard to score with certainty due to picture quality to determine clean or glancing blows as well as a lone stationary camera.
