Lewis probably beats him most anytime , Buster exposed Tyson pure and simple. I recall Howard Cosell was asked what he thought about Tyson, he said" I don't think anything about him, he's beaten every statue put in front of him" Lewis ain't a statue
Tyson could definitely do it, but would he? Lewis was a strange one, he could blow hot and cold and. I think it depends on what version of Lewis shows up. I think at his very best Lewis > Tyson, he was too big, hit too hard and had too many tools. But if we got a version a little off his game, Tyson might end it fast and make it look easy.
Big fan of both but don't think Lewis is quick enough, or have a strong enough chin to avoid a swarming Iron Mike.
James Bonecrusher Smith held on to Tyson for 12 rounds and became affectionately known as Bonehugger. Tucker lasted a full 15 rounds, only to lose on points. Tyson was very tired at the end. If he fights a frightened statue, he wins, but a smart moving boxer who takes him into deep waters, such as the late rounds and keeps him on the outside, he loses. Just as George Foreman did against Ali in 1974, he blasted away at Frazier and Norton before, but was dragged into later rounds after firing his deadly bolts in Zaire, and got knocked out. Intimidation and power are good, but what happens when someone takes the bullets out of your gun? And you never had to learn to reload?
I think now and then you get a fight where you can say it could go either way, and it is the correct answer without being accused of sitting on the fence. This could be one of those fights. Both had their flaws and both had attributes they could use to beat each other. I don't know if you can say there was really a performance by either where you can say, that means they would definitely win this one.
True, he was not Ali, but stamina issues is a major flaw, but that blueprint is very evident for Tyson, maybe not for Lewis. Power is good to have, but every great fighter needs stamina to succeed. But not everyone is going to stand still to get hit. Good post though.
Log off Tucker was a 12 round fight.......Tucker maybe won 2 rounds.....a white wash......Tucker was tall ,light on his feet. had a chin Lemmie did not have, had stamina and skills plus his jab was at least as good as Lemmies.....what he lacked was all out aggression .......but that flaw allowed him to go the distance.
More non sense....... When Lennox Lewis is put down , he stays down.....FACT.......as a matter of fact it does not take a lot, ONE right hand will do the trick. lennox Lewis has never been able to continue after a knock down. FACT. Tyson has never won a fight after being knocked down but he at least was able to continue after the knock down.FACT.
