Love that last name Witherspoon. I used to have high hopes for him, possibly based off my experiences watching Tim and wanting Chazz to be successful also.
I wonder who is training him, I know he had Virgil Hunter training him before, so @ some point he was in the midst of good/great advise on how to use his body, height & reach. Problem is, even though he is quiet & humble, he has a tendency to want to get back. He will throw when he is hurt. We know HW's can hurt him, we will now see if a CW can. Bad for Usyk is he has to look great against a massive under dog who isn't small and isn't a light puncher that throws punches in bunches.
We have 3 of the most talented fighters in the world fighting on this card The Usyk God who currently sits at #3 on Serge's official P4P top 10 rankings This content is protected Dmitry Bivol who I have ranked at #12 This content is protected And Anthony Sims Jr. who I currently have ranked at #19 P4P and top 10 in my official most handsome boxers P4P rankings This content is protected
Unlike his predecessor as CW GOAT, the Cat will not have it said of his legacy that he ducked a Witherspoon upon moving up to HW.
Usyk clearly has talent. He can box. He had unusual skills for a guy his size. He did all what anyone could expect at cruiserweight. It remains to be seen if he can compete at the highest levels of the heavyweight division though. Does he have enough "pop" at HW to hurt the top heavies? Can he take a shot from a top heavy? Is he big enough and have a long enough reach to deal with the biggest guys in the division? I dont doubt his talent. It's more about can he overcome the size and power disparity to become a top dog at HW??? We shall see.

In fact, I'm glad they chose Witherspoon over Dawejko. At least Chazz is a true heavyweight with a reach advantage on Usyk. P.S. And he also looks like a very intelligent and likeable guy.
He is man. I once drove him and his father to their hotel while playing a Richard Pryor skit on cd talking about Leon Spinks. To see a serious dude try his best, but lost his composure was priceless. Richard: "Bad luck be "f'in with Leon.......Leon got locked up over a $1.50 cent worth of cocaine.......have U ever seeeen...a $1.50 cent worth of cocaine?.......a dollar 50 cent worth of cocaine..will melt b4 U open the paper." He was in the back giggling like a school kid. But he has a mean side. Real serious. Question isn't can he box, He can. It comes down to his chin. Man, this bout will pay him more than his last 7 fights put together I'd imagine.
