Anyone think Bellotti beats this dude? His foe doesn’t look special at all on film. Pretty sloppy and aggressive.

Francesco Grandelli and Reece Bellotti winding down a smashmouth featherweight ten-rounder.

    Into round eight now.

Weird dynamic in the bits & pieces I've caught of this one - the dread-hawked Italian switch-hitter gets the best of things when he flashes combos off the jab while floating on his toes and turning Bellotti, except that invariably he gets drawn into brawls with the slow & steady Englishman (playing the literary tortoise against Grandelli's hare), dropping into the pocket at the slightest provocation to engage in vicious hooking exchanges of which Bellotti always emerges the less damaged party.

He definitely is sloppy-aggressive, which is a workable style if you bring in either the head movement to slip counters on the way in or the chin/heart to just absorb them, but he seems to lack either. Just overwhelming Bellotti for stretches swarming in with his handspeed until he gets forced onto the backfoot and/or clipped & hurt with something.

I missed the first half and only saw the last three rounds, but this seems like the kind of fight where a wide array of cards might be found, depending on what you liked..

Wow, on Darren Barker's unofficial scorecard, Grandelli won this walking away...

Dazza scored it 99-93 against his countryman, only giving Bellotti round three (with the seventh and eighth both level, 10-10).

This is for the vacant WBC International Silver featherweight title, so they probably announced open scoring at the usual two intervals...but I'm watching sans audio, so.. :nusenuse:

    Official cards:

    96-95 Grandelli
    96-95 Bellotti
    96-94...

    SD for Grandelli

Those seem like fair cards. I'm not sure why Barker's was so weighted against his fellow Brit.

Bellotti is trash. Judges gave every chance to score it for him. He probably should have lost wide and the widest card was 96-94. One more round and he wins a MD.
