I anticipate an easy fight for Usyk. I have him winning on points but wont be surprised by a 7 rd or later stoppage. Chaz is a decent opponent but everytime he's stepped up his game, he's been TKO'd. I do not believe this is a huge test for Usyk.
I know he was tabbed short-notice, but you can't step in with Usyk with your body soft in the middle... This content is protected
I mean, it is what it is at this point. I think Usyk stops him, far better chance at stopping him than he would've at stoppng Takam at any rate. At least he's fighting
Usyk to win on points is +700. Very generous odds considering this is Usyks first HW fight and he wasn’t known for his power at CW.
> This is a 12 round fight, and Witherspoon has never been past 10. > All of his losses were by stoppage > Witherspoon is 38 year old > Usyk stopped 12 out of 16 opponents. He didn't stop Glowacki, Hunter (although was very close to), Briedis and Gassiev - and all of them are very tough > With this enormous kind of gap in skill, speed and athleticism Usyk will be willing to put in an impressive performance and won't be too cautious in the ring Usyk may not score a one punch knockout, but sooner or later Witherspoon will either quit on the stool, be pulled off by his team or the referee. He's not sharing the same ring with Usyk for 12 rounds.
For me it’s down to Witherspoons gastank and whether he comes to win or just to last the distance. If he’s negative behind the jab I can see him going 12. But I agree Usyk via stoppage is more likely.
I will be impressed if Usyk can stop the big man. I'm pretty sure he can outbox him. Usyk was not huge puncher at CW. I will be interested to see if he can carry what power he does have to the HW division.
