If you had to coach Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and Andy Ruiz on beating Mike Tyson in his prime what would you do? Focus on fundamentals, use size, what would you think they could do to stop him?

I would expand on conditioning, because Iron Mike had yet to go non stop into the later rounds, sure Bonecrusher, but he did an Ernie Terrell imitation with Mike, and Tony TNT Tucker, who just wanted to survive. I would have them concentrate on the left jab and combination punching. During sparring, they would have to work on defense, staying off of the ropes, keeping the match in the middle of the ring. Mainly following the James Buster Douglas blueprint, Tyson was exposed. Mike being one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history, one cannot trade with him. Like the old saying goes, You Live By The Sword, You Die By The Sword. Power is exciting, but the power can be cut off, just like when you do not pay your light bill. Prime George Foreman and Sonny Liston were thought to be invincible, but their weakness were exposed, Foreman, by Ali and Jimmy Young. Sonny Liston, by Muhammad Ali.

Pray. Aside from that I would advise using awkward angles for your punches like Maidana did against Mayweather cause Tyson’s prime was a defensive oriented and super aggressive.

Problem with all 3 is their chins won't hold up to the early rush Tyson was known for. Once he puts you down he was a great finisher.

Wilder - I'd say get to him and throw bombs (surely Mike will catch and KO him early, but at least Wilder would know he's done evderything he could)

Ruiz - just box like you can, do your best and get your payday.

Fury - tie him like octopus (Fury does it well and Mike never liked it. Could be borefest if Mike doesn't connect).

I respect your opinion, but staying on the outside, and true, angles are a good strategy to use on Mike. But know one has an idea what would happen if the Douglas strategy would have been employed earlier, minus the constant Tyson excuses.

Bingo! Wilder has a punchers chance but a slim one. Ruiz has zero chance and Fury could keep Mike out the outside and tie him up when he gets close. I think prime Tyson beats these three but Fury has the best chance of finishing on his feet. Although, I’m old and usually favor fighters from previous eras over modern guys. My opinion is probably more biased than I care to admit.

I'd say you'd have to coach them to run Tyson over with a bus in the parking lot before the fight.

The only way any of those guys defeat Tyson is clinch and go past round 7 besides Wilder and win the rest of the rounds bc taking rounds from him LEGITAMATLEY was tough he only lost about 8 out of 135 plus under Rooney .

T.Fury has the best chance to do this obviously the guy is 6'9 and would make the DISTANCE a much greater chance for anyone around 5'10 even a harder fight. Maybe Fury gets a SD /UD if Mike Tyson becomes lethargic that night and convinces the judges hes winning just because hes still standing .

Wilder would need to just go swing away all out bc he wont last more then 3 if he doesn't hurt Tyson and win in that time. Wilder would get crushed if it gets past rnd 3 ,his punch volume alone makes it a mismatch at least on paper.

Ruiz would need brass knuckles inside his gloves.
