Jones is ducking in very low and popping jabs into Manríquez's face on the come-up. Jones with lead rights up top as he cuts inside, and then left hooks on the body, all the while barking as many Americans do after graduating from the amateurs without first being disabused of the habit. Manríquez is kept turning and reacting to Jones, missing jabs wide past the head and getting a piece of him only when they clasp together for mutual flank-slaps.

That name used to command instant awed respect but has been massively diluted over the years.

 

Swing bout, after this I expect Bivol vs. Castillo setting table for the Cat and the Gentleman.

 

Two zip Jones, nothing spectacular in his game so far, just a quick-handed but freewheeling awkwardly offensive style. Pretty hilarious moment halfway into the round where they both end up tumbling onto the canvas, wriggling on their backs with all eight limbs sticking up in the air.

 

Slow-motion replay shows that was a pretty sick arm-drag by Manríquez ...perhaps Vince ought to run in there and stick a ladder in the middle of the ring with a contract on top. @CST80

 

Gio Mioletti fought earlier on the card? How did he look?

 

Oh my god, ew, Manríquez just gagged and puked a little as they were replacing his gum shield..

Like, just a bit of saliva or bilious water dribbling from his mouth, but still.

 

Jones took an incidental thumb in his left eye, can't open it anymore, fighting on the backfoot now in obvious distress. Still just barely nicks the round, based mostly on his work in the first ~2 minutes.
