Stylistically, Antuofermo is a really crappy matchup for Canelo. Canelo would look like a million bucks for the first few rounds ... and then slowly run out of steam while the Vito energizer bunny pulls out ahead in the late rounds. Canelo might be able to bank enough rounds early in a 12 rounder but over 15 he's doomed.
My counterpoint is that Canelo has hamster lungs and can only fight a minute of each round as it is. Antuofermo would force him to work non-stop, much more than even Golovkin did, and by the later rounds ginger will be sucking wind like his life depended on it. I think Canelo has less power and certainly less conditioning than Hagler, and Vito had Hagler stretched late in their first fight.
Vito couldn't beat Minter in two tries .I was at their second fight, he was outclassed.Canelo would stop Minter .
I don't know if he would stop him, but he'd definitely win. Imo he doesn't have very good power especially at MW. I think if he stops him it's on cuts.
Although, and to be fair, Vito was also a bleeder. Canelo would probably catch him clean early on, so there's a reasonable chance that would be a (possibly major) problem for Antuofermo.
loses to Hearns, Mugabi, Duran, Roldan, Antuofermo and Leonard. several others he'd struggle with Briscoe , Sibson, Seales, Watts
I think you’re underselling Canelo’s stamina. He doesn’t actually lose a lot of late rounds and still moves forward (except GGG I). He tends to lose early rounds and catch up.
You must have been watching a different Canelo. To me he looks like a million bucks early on and then fades towards the end.
I think Canelo is smarter/more skilled than Barkley, much better defensively, has faster hands, and throws better combinations.
I'd agree with this. In fact the only advantage I'd give Barkley over Canelo is power, and thats close. Barkley vs Jacobs is an interesting one imo
