I highly doubt it's the greatest fight to happen in Manchester, in fact I'm sure of it, but Whyte Chisora 1 is my favourite.

That's probably when that bouncer war broke out and they were cutting each other's eyeballs out with broken bottles and ****.

I think it was EE gangsters muscling in on the local scene. It just ended up with corpses everywhere. Not sure who "won" because I don't go to shitty clubs anyway.

Indy has never been known for hosting Championship Fights; the only two I can think of are:
Patterson-London. How this one wound up at the Fairgrounds Coliseum is beyond me?
I was just short of 6 yrs. old and couldn't go but...Dad and Uncle Ray went along with a Korean War vet (Robert) who I met almost 20 years ago. Robert told me he had a ringside seat and INGO, and his girlfriend, were there running around and snapping pictures of the fight all over the place.
Marvin-Matthew. Why Marvin didn't take at least one easy payday before fighting Saad, again, is beyond me?
We were upper deck, front row, close to the action.
But...this is Indy, not known for top flight boxing bouts.
Case in point: Check out the Yaqui Lopez-Lonnie Bennett scrap in the mid-70's at the Convention Center. You see a TKO from Bennett. We were ringside; Bennett, I think, got 'clocked' and dumped at the (end) of the second round which saved his arse...only to, deliberately, head butt Yaqui early in the 3rd which resulted in the 'stoppage'. Our local (inept) Hoosier (DeFabis) was referring and incorrectly gave the fight to Bennett. Without the head-butt Lopez would have put Lonnie on q***r street by the middle of the fight.
Oh the old days! Miss 'em so much!!!
