December 7th @ Barclays, on Showtime. WBC middleweight title at stake, 1st defense of Charlo. The champion is coming off a very poor showing (despite a significant advantage in size) against Brandon Quincy Adams. The challenger is coming off what should have been an upset victory over WBO super welterweight titlist Jaime Aaron Munguía Escobedo; alas, he got robbed.
At 154lb I had him down as an explosive puncher. Not seen all his fights at 160lb but I’m not sure if he’s had any knockouts yet at the weight? He fought a cripple on his Middleweight debut and looked ordinary against Korobov who is a good fighter. Let’s just say the young Lion act is in need of a rethink lol.
I’m gonna go look Hogan up on Boxrec as I don’t know who he is?Read some posts on here that he’s a decent opponent. I don’t dislike the Charlo brothers for being clowns and on their night can be entertaining.I know CST80 was all over em both when myself and others were getting hyped up about em.Hindsights a wonderful thing and on reflection now we’ve seen one lose and the other “struggle” I would say their boxing IQ is not very high as they don’t cope well, when their opponent can take their shots and can box. Have to fancy Jermall though.
Hogan is better than his record suggest. I had him beating Munguia in a wide decision, one of the worst robberies of 2019. Hogan will do well but at some point the power the shots will equalize the match.
Another cherrypick from the fake champ. Even if it goes wrong the bought and payed for judges will be there to save him. That said Hogan is too small and lacks the power to keep Charlo honest. I don't think this will be Korobov II. Charlo stops him.
