I was with Kirk at the time in Dallas. He wasnt training properly & Lennox knew it. He was looked on as a warm up & the winner fight Vitali. A combination of John Ruiz & Joe Cortez ROBBED Kirk for the WBA title He kicked Ruiz ass but ruiz acting got him DQ'd Kirk lost heart after that. Anyway Lennox has no reason to be jealous of anyone . Only one fighter in history beats him his idol Muhammad Ali
It's obvious what he was trying to do with that comparison. I could compare a number of great fighters to much lesser fighters and it would mean absolutely nothing so why bother to say it at all? Can you imagine how stupid we'd say someone like Thurman was if he said he KO'd Carlos Quintana in 4 and he was around the same size as Sugar Ray Leonard so go figure? Lennox Lewis was a great fighter but he's a bitter and stupid sounding old man these days. It saddens me to see, it really does.

Usyk can present problems for a number of top HWs. Wilder is SO technically unsound. Usyk is the opposite. If Usyk can weather the Wilder storm he definitely has a chance to catch Deontay late.
Eugenia Williams & Larry O Connel robbed Lennox of an easy win over Holyfield in their first fight . But both incompetant or crooked judges, are still judging today same way Adalaide Byrd & Dave Moretti lol

Botha was shorter and Usyk has 4 inch reach advantage to Botha.,who was at the end of his career, leaving in 2002 and coming back 2007 to 2014 losing 7 out of 13 fights in that period. Usyk is in his prime now,Botha was brutally knocked out by M.Tyson bf he fought Lewis another guy Tyson softened up for him. If Lewis fought Byrd we would have a better gage on Usyk . Did Lewis even mention he strayed away from Southpaws ?Does he even know Usyk is a southpaw ? Shouldn't he know gold medal winners would probably do better then Botha in the year 2000 when he fought Botha ? If Usyk loses the most likely guys to hand him L's are Joshua, Fury and Hrgovic. This doesn't mean he cant make a good run at HW. Lewis suggesting his knockout of Botha is just dumb to use that point. If we really wanted to use the closest guy per fight with similar size Lewis fought it would be Levi Billups in his 19th fight who he couldn't knock out ,if Usyk fought someone like that and it went 10 ,we would never here the end of it. where the other guy was 6'0 tall sub 210 and couldn't punch ,he had like a 30% k.o record or something.
Youre right. Its an old story. The fact that, when he boxed, Lewis rarely talked over the line and the fact he didnt rage on his opponents with his power made many malicious think he was not straight. Bullsh*its! The truth is he was one of the most victorious and balanced fighters ever.
Those fights were great but don’t forget that Lewis had KO’d Bowe already and threw his belt in the trash rather than fight him again.
That’s why I’ve never rated Bowe. He was a bully, he hit guys at press conferences and that’s why I’m glad that a true sized hvw exposed him. If Golota had stayed disciplined we wouldn’t even be talking about the forgotten Bowe.
