Mosley, Floyd, Cotto, GGG & Kovalev. Who has faced a more notable crop of faded Greats than Canelo?

I can't think of any fighter comparable in recent history other than maybe Mayweather.

Well could have been fighting a bunch of C level guys for his fa...I mean rabid fanbase. I would love Canelos resume . Only guy that tops his with as much star power and legendary status is Oscar De La Hoya.
Canelo has a great fight record and you know it. Stop the shenanigans.

His top 5 most credible opponents have a combined average age of 36.5 years old at the time that he faced them. Mosley being the oldest at 41 and GGG being tied with Cotto for the youngest at 35. No shenanigans just noticed he has a thing for old guys.

Barrera tail end of his career, with four losses one by KO
Morales all but shot. Was 1-1-1 in his last three fights when Pacquiao beat him.
Ricky Hatton was also at the end gate of his career. Floyd had already destroyed him.
Cotto fought Pac at a catchweight, had no real trainer, had just gotten KTFO by Margarito, had major family feuds.
Mosley's was all but shot. It was just one year before a young green Canelo fought him.
De La Hoya was at the end gate of his career and was completely weight drained.
Margarito was completely shot when Pac fought him and was given a title at SWW

Canelo jumps up 2 divisions to fight Kovalev coming off 2 of his best wins and people want to ***** about his opposition? It doesn't matter if these guys were slightly faded, they were (and are in the case of Kov) still the very best opponents he could have fought. No active fighter besides Pac is close in terms of resume.

Mayweather would have to be second, but thats not a dis against May, he just fought so many greats, a lot of them happened to be faded when they fought. It's still better than not having fought them. He also faced plenty of young dogs too.

The rest you mention have far fewer fights agaisnt ATGs. Kovakel in particular, besides B-Hop, what other legends did he beat.

Cotto beat Martinez, Mosely was still a good fighter when they fought

GGG never beat noone besides Danny Jacobs

Faded opponents while on PEDs and having judging bias. Fools buy into the false machismo, even though he only fights with advantages. This is the guy that ducked a younger GGG to fight Khan for the middleweight title and people can't see through the games? Right. People actually pretend he's brave for fighting Kovalev when in fact Kovalev is perceived to be at his weakest point and the most vulnerable of the 175 champs, coming off a very damaging fight and having a limited prep/recovery time. Even if Kov wins, the perception is he's the weakest link and that's why the fight gets made, it's openly discussed even by Kov's promoter!

We should also add that with GGG we literally saw the process happening in real time. Canelo and team were trying to delay and age GGG, take some heat off him before they agreed, doing exactly what BJS said he was going to do. Then they also tried to stretch out the rematch and now this third fight. It's so goddamned obvious that not even utter mongs would fail to see it, meaning only worms wouldn't admit what is happening.

In summary, if Canelo really wanted to prove he was the greatest, first he wouldn't be injecting steak into his belly, then he would have taken on GGG at the earliest point, before Cotto, since GGG was understood to be the real MW champ then. He wouldn't have delayed rematches either and would have tried to get GGG before he'd sunk too far into middle-age. If moving up to 168, he wouldn't go after Fielding for a title on paper, but Callum Smith, the best 168r. At 175, he'd take on Beterbiev or Nail, instead of targeting the jaded killer of the division pretending he's got the balls of Nathan Cleverly.

If GGG was facing Kovalev you'd be jizzing your panties, but unfortunately he has iddy biddy lil babynuts compared to Canelo. Kovalev is still the best and most dangerous LHW out there, he proved that in his last two fights.

Ah, now I know why I see Nelo on Gilf Hunter forums all the time. He once caught Oscar browsing there and when he asked Daddy Oscar what GILF means, Daddy said: Geriatrics I'd like to Fight

    Timing.
It´s not Canelo´s fault Floyd, Cotto and Mosley were older by the time he reached them. Or even Kovalev for that matter.
    Golovkin is a different story.

But there have been plenty of guys who arrive just late.
