Seems most people want this fight more because GGG 'deserves it' than because it will actually be a good fight. That's not good enough for me. Ive seen this movie twice before, and it wasn't even that good the first 2 times
look man idgaf who people think won i just dont want to see the same movie 3 times ask hagler duran hearns and leonard
Especially when there are other interesting matchups, especially with GGG who is running out of time.
Canelo vs Kovalev is indeed very interesting, and I am really looking forward to it. However, both of the GGG vs Canelo fights were very entertaining with good action. There is also bad blood between the 2 of them, and I think that animosity would show itself in the ring in the 3rd fight. Golovkin may gun for a KO, or Canelo for that matter. Here is what decides it for me though, the rivalry. The sport right now is filled with people protecting their O, weight bullying, ducking top fighters in their divisions, talking empty words and never backing them up, etc etc etc. What are the great rivalries in boxing right now? Ones that really peak the interest of boxing fans and casuals? Floyd and Manny? Fury and Wilder? Come on, everyone knows about the GGG vs Canelo fights, all sports fans. We have to take advantage of a great rivalry, not only to settle their trilogy, but to finish the story and engage the casual fans to grow the sport. Great rivalries are few and far between, and should be celebrated. If I had to choose between the 2, I take the trilogy fight. There will be people who disagree with my words, and if you do, please reply with what rivalries you think are greater and more relevant than GGG and Canelo in boxing.
Idiots talking about "Seeing that movie already..." This is a sport you dumbsh*ts. Let me guess, you idiots never watch 'best of 7' series because you already saw the first, yeah? Were the first two fights exactly the same? Clearly not. So the assumption that nothing will be different is because.......?
I agree that a third fight would be exciting and full of fire works, but honestly there are other fights that are as interesting and other fighters waiting for their turn at glory. Pac-JMM was a bigger rivalry and Pacquiao made JMM wait FOUR years for the rematch, and then three for the rubber, and then another for the fourth fight. Morales-Barrera was also huge! They waited 2.5 years for the rematch, and then another two years for the rubber. The only top fighters GGG has fought have been Canelo, Jacobs, and Dchenko who is a very good B level fighter. That's not enough. He needs to create a legacy and fight the other top guys. Same with Canelo, he's chasing glory right now, and if both continue to find success and look impressive then a rubber will be that much bigger down the line. If it happens now I'm fine with that, but if it doesn't happen I'm totally fine with that too because I know Canelo will at the very least continue looking for the big fights.
same especially after the Chenko/GGG and Canelo vs Danny fights.. It let me know that there no real separation in the MW division and there are more intriguing matchups to made than the same ones.. I wanna see GGG vs Charlo and Andrade vs Canelo etc..
Well from my seat the first 2 fights were a bit of a let down. Sure it's a rivalry, but it seems much more like a rivalry created on paper than in the ring. Nothing about the first fight left me clamoring for a second, and nothing about the second fight left me clamoring for a third. I would much rather see these guys match their styles against other styles they havent yet faced before
Yep, agreed. Lots to do at 160 for both of them. Some stuff to do at 168. And at absolute worst the Canelo-Kovalev fight is very intriguing.
