IF joshua beats Ruiz

Lets just say for arguments sake the first fight was just a really bad night for AJ and Ruiz magical best ever night, and Joshua is able to turn it around.

Where do you think they go next?

I doubt hearn will want to risk the Usyk fight yet, I cant see them fighting Wilder either.

I see the two options as follows:

1. Kubrat Pulev

Mandatory, cant see AJ having toomany problems, probably does good tickets in the UK where AJ wont have fought for like 18 months or so

2. Tyson Fury

After going life and death 50/50 with wallin, having an awful cut and fannying about in the WWE i think Fury MIGHT be ready for the taking now, he still has the "lineal" title and itd do obscene business.

 

I favour Ruiz.if AJ wins and I hope he does he's the man again.i would also advocate him point blank refusing to fight wilder!..he missed his chance so he can do 1.

 

Wouldn’t be suprised to see Ruiz retire tbh, unless there’s a third fight. He won’t get anywhere near that money again without a title.

It’s a big if though.

Can’t see AJ taking a dangerous fight next should he win. Probably Pulev or someone else worse at his style than him.

 

Yeah seems likely to be Pulev then blaming the WBO before vacating.

Then Usyk can take the vacant WBO and create another big money superfight (in house) for re-unification.

 

Yeah I see that AJ would fight Pulev in his IBF mandatory and that Usyk would possibly meet either Chisora or Parker for the vacated WBO. Win/Win for Matchroom

Then a big offer for Fury and will give him 50/50

 

They will attempt to make another offer to unfiy with Wilder and Haymon will reject it again. IBF mandatory apparently has priority ( Pulev) and later in the WBO mandatory( Usyk). That would be his 2020 and very good fights.

 

No point discussing scenarios as Ruiz will beat him again but this time even quicker.

 

lol. The only thing correct in that is Pulev, and that will be after an easy fight as it's not unlikely to be a walk in the park with Ruiz.

I'm not bothered who wins either way. Back in June or July I'd have said Ruiz but I've noticed a massive drop off in interest in boxing by semi-casuals since AJ lost. And that is not good for the sport generally.

If AJ wins and does fight Pulev vacating the WBO as Usyk is no 1 and Fury no 2 in the WBO rankings could they order a Usyk v Fury for the vacant belt . I'm not really up on the way vacant / mandatory issues are resolved.

 

No way Fury agree to fight Usyk. He will reject it and we will get Usyk vs Parker I reckon.

If AJ wins, usyk vs parker for WBO that will give Hearn 2 of 3 WCs plus the mandatory for WBC in Whyte. Wilder can't run forever and will have no excuses for not fighting one of 3.

 

I really can't see that, Joshua is training for Ruiz Jnr now, it will be different.

 

Another option is the Whyte rematch.

Further down the line I think there will be the Usyk fight for him too.

I don’t see Wilder ever stepping in the ring with him given he ducked the fight already for a lot of money. That level of purse and level of interest will never come again.

Tyson Fury is so unpredictable it is impossible to tell whether he would sign to face AJ. The Wilder rematch won’t happen before June next year at the earliest. Whether Fury is then available to face AJ next depends on whether he avoids that right hand.
