It seemed he hit Lewis with his wrist and Lewis took a knee. I know the rule is that if you get punched and go down it's a KD, even if it hits you on your shoulder or anywhere not illegal.

Is this not a knockdown because it's the wrist that connected so it's not considered a legal punch? Or does that not matter? Did the ref just miss it?

I do remember Roy knocking Calzaghe down with his forearm.

It does not look like Akinwande is pushing Lewis down or at least not hard enough to make him go down. It also looks like Lewis collapses down, not that he's pushed down.

IMO, it was a knock down when I saw it live on TV.......the outcome in the end would have been the same because Akinwande was dead afraid to engage into a fight but nevertheless Lewis touched the canvas due to a punch.

Well from the camera angle I couldn't see if his knee touched, but if it did then YES it was a knockdown that the ref missed, probably because Lewis got up so fast.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't Akinwande DQd in this fight for excessive holding?

It looked to me like he pushed Lewis's head down

No, Lewis is being pushed off balance with a forearm shot landing in between his guard ( tricky to catch but this what happened @1:17) followed with the glove on the head AFTER it lands to the back of his head going down with momentum bc hes getting leaned on .

Yes, it was a knockdown. A blow landed and Lewis glove touched the canvas because of it.
